Ridgewell for me. He is English and he will be a consistant player who won't get picked just because he is the captian........

Agree, keep him as Cap all season,he is young, hungry an not afraid to open his mouth.

Give Nafti the captaincy and your shooting yourself in the foot so early in the season. I doubt Nafti will play much this season, or at least won't start 1st choice.
What worries me is we don't particualry have a captain. Ridgewell seems the stand out choice but he's been here two minutes.

JOHNSON is our captain.

We simply need a Captain for a few matches which IMO should be Nafti.

Why, surely its better to have a captain who is setled in the side, not in and outevery week.

Errm because Johnson will be settled in the side like it or not?

I'm not doubting that Im saying why give Nafti the captaincy when he isn't going to be 1st choice?

Well he will for the first few matches, at least while Johnson is out.

Debatable. I'd like to see Kapo in there, go for a more positive approach. We've got Muamba and he is a really good defsnive player, I can't see the benefit of having Nafti in their. If we go to Chelsea worrying about them we'll get a pasting. I'd rather have a right go and try and make them worry about us, we can do this by playing 4-4-2 and playing someone like Kapo CM.

Sorry Steve  that's us told. I think Nafti wll come into his own this season and be like Clem was last season.

If you want to play Muamba week-in week-out then you need somebody like Nafti of Johnson next to him. Muamba is more of a box to box player, he's young and will wander off looking for the ball and leave huge gaps. That's why you need a proper DM next to him. Muamba and Kapo in the middle of a 4-4-2 would be suicidal.

Nafti and Muamba= no creativty

We saw last season Muamba is a driving force but on the ball he is never going to be a genius. He is more the type who tackles and runs hard and gives the ball to more creative players imo. Play him and Nafti, or Dj, and we won't have much going forward from the centre of the park.

That is why Brucie will go 4-5-1 imo so he can have his 2 defesive players and Kapo in a free role type of position.

Im guessing tomorrow we'll line up.

----------------------Doyle
Kelly-----Ridgewell-------Djourou----Queudrue
------------Nafti------------Muamba
De Ridder--------------------------McSheffrey
--------------Kapo
------------------------Forssell

Our most experienced player should get the captaincy, and that is Nafti, played a fair few games for us, and in a World Cup too, and the fact he can speak
English and French will help, (French to communicate with Djourou, Queudrue and Kapo)

Why not McSheffrey? :silence:

When you do that with footballers like he said about Nafti... I've kept really quiet, but I'll tell you something: he went down in my estimation when he said that - we have not resorted to that. But I'll tell ya - you can tell him now if you're watching it - we're still fighting for this captain and i want Mcsheffrey, and he's got to go to Brucie and get something, and... and I tell you honestly, I will love it if we beat them - LOVE IT!.

:LMAO:

Johnson as captain?,where is he going to fit in the team now,get over him. He is at best a squad player with limits so we need someone who will play most of the season,Ridgewell

People can't be serious with the ridgewell suggestions surely? I can't understand why he would even get it over Kelly? He has not played a competitive game, just signed, no captaining experience and the guy is only 23. It seems absolute madness to just hand it to him. McSheffrey, Nafti, Forssell up there as first choice captains and Taylor, Jaidi (limited chances perhaps) and Kelly would have to be outsiders.

I would personally love to see Forssell get it. But Ridgewell now? ... :redcard: Maybe one to think about in a while.
