Regarding Djourou's loan until January. We don't actually play Arsenal till Jan 12th, then Feb 23rd. No wonder Arsenal were so keen to lend him to us.

Portsmouth play the bottom on Dec 26th and would pose more of a threat.

Doesnt matter when we play them, he wouldnt be allowed to play then anyway.

He came to us because he was going to be guarenteed first team football. Simple as that.

Of course.

I meant that by lending him to us as opposed to Portsmouth, Arsenal get maximum benefit (as do we) as Djourou gets 2 more matches than he otherwise would in the loan period (ending Jan 2008) and there is no need for contractual stiplations against Djourou playing for us against them. Plus, Portsmouth are perceived as more of a threat than us at the moment.

Oh ok.
I agree with your second point that Pompey are more of a threat.
But the fact that we will play 2 more games against other opposition, i dont think that Wenger would have really taken that into consideration but it is a good idea anyway :Blues:
