I'll take that.. today's pluses.. * We scored 2 away from home * We scored 2 against a top 2 team * One was a scorcher * Nafti was immense in the challenge * Kapo looks a prospect * Forssell looks sharp * We wern't frightened to attack * If Doyley had been on form we'd have won * Ridgewell and Djourou looks a good partnership * The kit looks great  * We were confident Can't wait to see what we'll be like against a similar quality team.. Bring on Wednesday night. :banner: |

Agreed. Also add that SB took off Queudrue who had a bad game. And even though we had only one striker on the pitch, our midfield was very attacking with Kapo, Larsson and McSheffrey. Disappointed we didnt come away with something, but it was Chelsea away - who had to play well to get the win. Wednesday should be a good game, cant wait already :banner: |

Totally agree. Its a bit early to be aiming criticism at anyone. I think we played well and if it hadn't been for two goalkeeping errors then who knows? |

Add to that list Most of the team have never played a competitive game with each other before - so they gelled together in quite a satisfactory manner, not brilliant but positive. There were also quite a few without any top flight experience and some with just a little - so they adjusted very well I like others am disappointed by some of the negatives I saw today but I think that alot of it can be ironed out. On the whole I feel it was a good start and I cant wait to see us play a few teams who are supposedly more our level |

:Blues: the one thing I noted is that we did not play like a lower club against a prem club in a cup tie, I thought we looked awkward a times but on the whole we seemed to fit in so to speak. |

i think we got more out of todays game than most expected -- and it has to give everyone involved abig confidence boost. we will not face many teams as good as chelsea. it is about taking points off teams that are about the same grade as we are. anything off chelsea/man ure etc is extra. at least we ran, and tried right up to the final whistle. |

Brilliant. I was surprised we scored 2 goals and I am overall happy, a little upset that we didn't get a draw but jeez, It's CHELSEA. We perform like that then we have a brilliant chance. Well done lads. |

If we keep playing like that this season I'll be well happy. Shame we couldn't nick an equaliser at the end. Also good to see the crowd making some noise and getting behind the team. |

Total agreement carrot. **thumbup To go to Chelsea & score a goal, leave alone 2, & get some positives from a defeat by one of the top two teams in the country can't be bad. |

I will agree with most of what you have said apart from about doyle. You cant just balme it on him, There was defenders they had to get past to to even get the chance but there not recognised for letting the goal in. The big positive i would take from the game is that we only got out played by two players, malouda and SWP. Other than them going down our flanks we was solid. I never even saw Lampard or game and only saw essien when he was fouling us or when he scored. So my positive out of the game is that we took Lampard out the game and that is one hell of a job considering how good he is, which obviously some of you want agree with but opinions again. |

just got bk from the game, brilliant performance and it seems weird saying it but im a bit upset we didnt get anything from the game. Its great to see all the players playing for the shirt and wanting to do well. Keep ridgwell as captian, he leads by example. KRO |

I was just about to say about Ridgewell and how well he coped being captain! He was on top of the defence all game and didn't look like he had just switched from viler and playing his first competitive game for us, nevermind his first as captain. Was lively at set pieces, both attacking and defending them. If he plays like that in every game, then I'm sure we won't be giving away 2 or 3 goals each weekend. I thought Djourou played well for us too considering it was his first ever game for us. Shame about Quedrue having a bad time with SWP but in all fairness, SWP was man of the match. Constantly finding space and giving us all sorts of problems. I thought Kelly did well though when he was asked to play left back. Certainly kept SWP quieter than Quedrue was. Parnaby looked fairly comfortable too after coming on. |
