Everyone is going to have an opinion on the lad but we all have to admit that he cost us the game today... his poor preformace has most probably cost us 1 point if not 3 points.

To be honest is was very suprised that he had the nod over taylor as taylor is skill a quality GK and has premiership experience under his belt.

I feel that doyle cracked under pressure and this will knock his confidece for the next few games, this is where i feel taylor shoud be given the nod for the next game because if we loose against sunbedland the whole time willbe at a low.

Whats your opinions on this??

P.s Kapo, WOT a wonder strike, the mans a GOD!! Pandiani.... WHO? lol

I think it's really silly to judge the lad on this game when all before was so very good. He hasn't become a bad goalkeeper overnight. We could always put Taylor, but where is the guarantee that he wouldn't make the same mistakes. Remember this is Taylor that made similar mistakes over a longer period of time when he was between the sticks.

Drop Doyle know and you'll destroy the player at this club.

To answer the question, simple,Taylor is a rubbish keeper, he is over the top, has been for 2 years. Doyle has had 1 bad game for us, without him last seaso it would have been play off's. Was you at Wolves? was you at Leicester?
Lets not write him off just yet,
Maik........thanks, but no thanks :applause:

Mark my words, Colin Doyle will win us more then he will cost us this season. 22 Years old today, he has had a terrible Birthday, & he will be the first to admit it. But he has got the makings of a class keeper.

he is still young and the mistakes he made to day can only make him a better keeper and more determined to prove him self for the rest of the season.
Yes is was his fault that chelsea scored twice, but being a goalkeeper is a tough job. No one is having pointing at others saying it was there fault we lost look at mcshefrey he did doing bu**er all or quadrue for having a bad game. I was proud of every blues player out there today regardless of how they played or the result. It would of been a nervous time for some of them most young and most them making there first real start or game in the premiership, yes sheffers has played before, yes so has larsson and djourou but at blues they have to make them self known and cant hide.
Just think how you would of felt being Doyle, Debut in the premiership, doesnt know the centre halfs and the lb very well so communication wouldnt of been the best, a big crowd against one of the best teams in the world he must of been all over the place emotionaly wise and this will only help him in the future and the same with all the others.

Im not blaming any one for why we lost,

we win as a team, get promoted as a team fight as a team and certainly lose as a team

It's his FIRST premier league game. Give the guy a chance FFS. If bruce drops him for the next game then he will definately have his confidence shattered and he will probably never be the same player again. :banghead:

Its a tough one where I really dont know the answer. Taylor is a quality keeper anyone who says otherwise is talking pants, Doyle also i feel is a very good keeper, i mean if he makes a mistake and costs us the game on Wednesday well then we will know the answer or will Bruce not take that chance and put Taylor back in? My own opinion is stick with the lad it was his first Prem game on TV on his birthday at Chelsea! Anymore mistakes tho and Taylor should get his chance, lets not forget last time we were in the Prem i can remember Taylor saving us in many games so its just good we have 2 very good keepers!!

Doyle had a bit of a bad game. For me he needs to be more vocal he doesnt shout enough at his defence. You could put that down to being young but i saw young schmiecel in goal for man city yesterday and he was screaming at his defence.
Come on doyle start screaming.

like many others I think if Bruce drops Doyle it will make a huge dent in his confidence BUT he has dropped keepers in the past for less so I am worried, yes he should have done better today but no I dont want him dropped

FFS leave the lad alone, he didnt play that badly today. And lets not forget we wouldnt have got promoted without Doyles performances at the end of last season. Remember Cardiff(h), wolves & Leicester(a)

Cardiff,Wolves and Leicester, blah blah blah! The kid had a stinker today-shockingly basic errors-ie shot stopping. If he can't handle the pressure at this level you can't afford to give him many chances. I would pick him Wednesday but one more mistake and he would be gone-Wednesday is a must win game and just one pathetic mistake like today coud have major repercussions!

Yep he was great the back end of last season-but will anyone remember those performances should we be relegated......???!!

Do you have any idea what happened on the phone in? I wasn't listening properly, all I heard was someone swear and then Tom Ross was saying we'll forward your number onto the police or something.

well i assume it was some vile fan trying to be funny... originally started talking about doyle saying we should get behind him and then out of nowhere came his fruity statement, i don't condone it but it tickles me to hear Rossy get all angry...CRETINS!!!

He's only had his chance recently and don't forget he has a totally new back-4 to communicate with. Yes, he dropped the ball so to speak today. But don't forget how well he commands his area, how well he kicks out, how well he saves under pressure, how confident you feel with him dealing with set pieces like penalties, free kicks, corners.

He's getting better and better and he's still so young for a good goalie. He'll learn from this and will progress - he's got a good mentor in Maik and won't collapse after these couple of mistakes. He is our number one GK and will be for a long time - let him learn and grow and show how good he can be. Don't write him off guys, he's going to be special.

The more I think about today, the more pleased I am. But for a couple of mistakes by Doyley (preceded by understandable defensive errors due to the team not having played together long), we could have destroyed Chelsea's (YES, Chelsea) unbeaten home run of 63 games, that's pretty much 3 season's worth. We were closest to interrupting that run before and this game was even closer than that. After grinding out results agains the likes of Colchester last season, we shouldn't have even come close today, especially with how new team members are to each other.

I am filled with hope today - we came to Chelsea and didn't sit back for one second, we came here for the win and we damned near did it.

There's a few lessons to be learnt - i.e. perhaps Sadders' speed and tenacity would have kept SWP in his pocket like he did Ronaldo in his first game if he'd been fit (Sheff must be the hardest LW to play with if you're a LB after all), Naft needs to 100% focus on a quick pass to 2 or 3 specific players day in day out in training, Doyley needs to build up a bit of arrogance and know that he's good enough to stop shots from £20millon players with ease. All stuff we can improve and who knows what sort of results we can get.

We ain't going down this season, we're just not. It's going to be our best yet!

Hope SB doesn't drop the lad just for a couple of errors....the same lad who saved a penalty in the last minute at Wolves,an incident that was probably the defining moment in winning promotion last season

Maik Taylor has cost us many more games the last time around

Doyle deserves a run in the side

Spot on Jo!

The whole team (including Doyle) deserve a huge pat on the back for yesterday. Give us time to get used to the premiership and for us to gel and we'll have a fab team- we are staying up!!!

Well done lads you did us proud! :applause:
