ok, it's the morning after the night before. I watched the game again this morning. And I think I'll stick with my initial thoughts with regards the back four. On paper, I was quite happy, but during the game, I felt we were lightweight, there was no understanding, and basically we were pulled out of position far too many times. Having said that: A) We're not playing Chelsea every week B) It was our first game of the season C) More importanntly, three of thos four were making their debuts D) One of thos debutants had only signed two days before On reflection, I'm still happy with them on paper....the more they train together and play together they will perform better as a unit. So, I hope he sticks with these four guys for a while to give them a chance to gel. |
