Being trying to calm some Spurs fans down over their NON penalty at the weekend

Which got me thinking
How about a Man United v Blues Quiz

1 - When was the last time Blues were awarded a penalty at Old Trafford v Man United ?

2 -Who was the last Blues player to score at Old Trafford v Man Utd ?

3 - When was our last victory v United at Old Trafford

4 - When was the last time beat them at St Andrews ?

5 - What's our biggest margin of victory over United ?

6 - When was the last time we played Manchester Utd in the FA Cup ?

7 - When was the last time we played them in the League Cup ?

Final question....can you name the year Man United were last relegated from the top flight ?

Good luck

Tough one this partisan, but here goes....

1) Total guess, 1977.
2) Terry Hibbit? Although Pandiani almost scored a cracker a few seasons back.
3) We've won there?
4) 1978?
5) I remember us beating them 5-1 in the late 70's early 80's (1st game of the season I think) so I'll go for that one.
6) 2002?
7) Couple of seasons ago, we lost 3-1 at our place (I left before Jarosik scored :ph43r: )
8) 1974, good old Denis Law.

Probably got 3 right.

Yes,mate
I made it tough and even I've gotta go and do some research on these

Yes,you're right Pandiani didn't score at OT....he hit the bar I believe (Q2) ....have to get back to you on Hibbitt but we did beat them at OT during the mid to late 70's (Q3)

Questions 4 , 7 and 8 you are correct .....you probably are right about Q5 too (the 5-1 win was in indeed November 1978....ironically a year we went down) but I'll confirm later

Denis Law's cheeky back-heel in '74 was something else wasn't it ?? :LMAO:

Splendid effort :applause: :applause:

Here's a point of interest about Denis Law's goal "relegating" Manchester United in 1973/74.
How many people realise that even if Manchester United had won that day, they'd still have been relegated? The fact is, Birmingham City (yes, us!) won that day and so, Man United couldn't have made up the places, even if they'd beaten Man City by a cricket score!!!

Yes that's true

In fact there was a pitched riot at Old Trafford after Denis scored that famous goal for Manchester City

Blues had beaten Norwich I recall 2-1 at SA the winner was a great diving header by Kenny Burns and Blues fans invaded the pitch too.....happily and peacefully it has to be said

The old chairman Clifford Coombes was hugging manager Freddie Goodwin like we'd just won the FA Cup and League double ...... :drink:

Absolutely! Next time you hear a Manchester United fan complaining about Denis Law, run that story by him (her) and watch his (her) face collapse in disbelief!

I think you'll find that 95% of the Utd fan population don't know who Dennis Law is..

;)

I'm sure beat them at Old Trafford in the mid to late 70's ....2-1, I think

Still haven't had time to do the research yet ....'I'll be back' as the Governor of California would say

I don't know who scored Man United's goal, but I'm convinced Gary Bailey was in goal for them that day, and it certainly wasn't his last game for them!
