Out.  He should have gone three years ago.

The board have to take a large part of the blame because they are often too cautious and they are the only reason Bruce is still with us.  However, we have used the same Championship tactic for years with the same kind of poor football and that is totally down to Bruce.

Once again we have a decent squad made to look like a pub team.  We have had the same problems on the field for years and the only constant is Bruce.   Forget giving him more time, bring some one in who will play the players to their strengths rather than shoehorn them into poor tactics.

Same old Championship tactic , just doesn't stack up!! Let's at least get the record straight. Not twist the facts to suit the argument. Brucie got us into the Prem. after being at the club less than a season. We finished in a respectable position for three seasons. This included being in our best ever position in the top league!! We came down because our board gambled that Portsmouth were dead and buried. Portsmouth invested heavily and stayed up. We didn't!! During the January transfer window Brucie had to keep changing his priorities everytime a player in a different position got injured. Portsmouth bought in six new players. We bought D J Campbell!!

We came straight back up. Fact. So during Brucie's reign we have spent more time in the Prem. than in the Championship. Fact!!

During their time in the Prem. our conquerers today Middlesborough under the stewardship of Brian Robson, Mc.Claren and Southgate have spent £300m. Just to stay in the league. This season Brucie has spent £7m. net. I think I know who has provided the best value for money and if he had the same funds at his disposal I don't think we would be just trying to stay in the league!!

Bruce has one tactic, he always has and freely admits to it. It has worked well in the Championship, but largely in my view last season because our players were by far the best in the league as opposed to his tactic. His tactic can work, to a degree, but only when he has the right players but that never stops him.

Yes he kept us in the prem for a while but we have had one very good half a season and the rest has been a struggle. We should have established ourselves but went backwards.

In the time Bruce has been with us he has had unbelievable backing. Admittedly not so much financially this season but given what he has spent we should never have been relegated. Portsmouth, to a degree, bought their way out of trouble, although Redknap was Portsmouth’s saviour and shows what a good manager can do, but we self destructed and did not make best use of what we had available.

I respect your view but Bruce is getting more credit that his achievements merit because we have been starved of success for so long, he also did not lead us to our highest ever top flight finish.

Once again this season we are already starting to hear the excuses. How many times to we have to witness quality players play like a pub team when they are with us and not realise you can’t keep blaming the monkey, you have to point the finger at the organ grinder.

In my view Bruce is too limited tactically to be a prem manager. I also think if we had brought someone more tactically astute we would never have been relegated. I also firmly believe that whilst Bruce is here we will never be much more than prem relegation fodder / top(ish) Championship side. Maybe some are happy with that. I personally see the last two and a half / three seasons as a wasted oportunity.

I would give Bruce until january as I am interested to see if we improve once the side has gelled and iff the likes of De Ridder, O'Connor, Smitz and the new midfielders can make a difference.

I am hoping that Bruce has learned from past mistakes but I dont feel at all confident and if Sullivan is still here in January - Bruce will not get the chop anyhow IMO

I don’t think there is any question Bruce will have until at least the club is sold. If it isn’t sold Bruce will be with us until the end of the season regardless of results unless he decides to walk. I can’t see any way the current board would sack Bruce.

Some of you are living in cloud cuckoo land. We could have spent that £9m on the players brought in this week on loan. The loan deals are a much better option; giving the club a chance to see if they are worth buying.

A pity the Mido loan wasn't accepted. But, on the showing of all the strikers Bruce has bought/loaned in the past 2 or 3 years, do you really think we'd have seen the same Mido who played for Middlesbrough today? I doubt it very much.

Face the facts. Blues have been a very poor side for over 2 seasons which, connected or not, coincided with SB's fall-out with and departure of Mark Bowen. Since then, the only glimmer of hope was during the 4th quarter of last year when, by SB's own admission, Eric Black was given 'full rein'.

While they are still at the club, David Sullivan and the Gold brothers will continue to do all they can to protect and enhance their investment. IMO however, they have been wrong not to listen to the fans and their blind faith in Steve Bruce

Are Derby Our Worst Enemies?

They quite possibly saved Brucie's Bacon last year, surely it can't happen again, even in this age of rash decisions in the football world I feel we would have a much better chance of staying up with another manager.

Suggestions for a replacement would obviously be the first consideration, Bruce is certainly not a Prem manager, he has never proven himself to be so, which was especially shown up when Bowen left us to join Blackburn along with another crucial contingent of our more successful side, I'm guessing our record since he left must be fairly appauling at the highest level.

Beating a team like Derby is a very small victory in a big world, Middlesbrough showed us up yesterday to be the average team that we all saw last year, but went along with as it was supposed to be a means to an end, the fact is we haven't evolved that much.

Bruce is a nice Bloke but that counts for nothing when results aren't coming.

Sullivan and his cronies out for me, the sooner the better.

£7 million net, I think Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger would struggle to keep us up in the Prem with that budget.

I know Bruce is not the best tactician but with that spending power who are you going to get to do any better.

Board out as soon as possible, you watch them take their vast profit with them and buy another club, Cardiff by any chance??

Good Riddance.

Who could we get worse tactically is the more relevant question.

Sticking with some one who is so obviously failing because you don't know who else might want the job is a recipy for disaster.

He's needed showing the door for a few seasons now.

I keep going back to the Sunderland FA Cup game in 2004 when we were played off the park by what was a Championship side. The whole performance was nothing short of shambolic.

Since then we've had to endure Middlesbrough 0-3, Liverpool 0-7, Vile 1-3, Man City 1-4 and most of the 2005/2006 season for lack of effort, invention, creativity and guile.

Add yesterday to the list and West ham too!

Not only is Bruce out of his depth at this level, but even in the lower division his football was mostly dull, one-dimensional rubbish. It may have been the reason we got promoted, but it was rarely pretty to watch - which is why St Andrews was never throbbing with excitement.

I also believe that our Board are out of their depth at this level. Bruce also had some of the Championships best footballers at his disposal last season after the Board backed him with some key transfers, including McSheffrey. But the owners still havent grasped that the recipe that got us promoted last season, needed to be applied again this season. They needed to show the same determination that bought in McSheff and Vine, in securing Konchesky, Mido and others. But they are just second rate, I'm afraid. They dont know how to play with the big boys.

If we want to progress we need to weed out the elements that are holding this club back. Hopefully a new Board will be sorted out soon (and I hope that all elements of the current Board go, so we can have a totally fresh start), and then it is just a matter of trying to secure a new manager.

Board out. Bruce out. Now.

Now Im going to play Devil's advocate and say ok we lose our next 6 games and for whatever reason it is decided that Bruce has to go. Could the current Power Struggle have any effect on things? If Yeung plans on having the club bought out in a matter of months, surely he would want a say on who comes in, and if it was not someone he was too keen on would he be happy to offer a two or three year contract to them? But on the flip side, Golds and Sullivan would have eventual say as they are majority shareholders. Also if you were a potential manager would you want to agree to manage a club who's future is up in the air?

On the other hand. Given the level of performances would we do any worse without a manger at all?

We could have a raffle each week down St Andrews. Two quid a go, the winner gets to manage the team the following week. Could generate some much needed revenue. I personally would like to see Jackoblue have a shot to show us how it should be done..
