From official site.

On-loan Blues midfielder Neil Kilkenny faces up to two months on the sidelines with a serious thigh injury.

Kilkenny, who is on loan at Oldham Athletic has torn his thigh muscle almost all the way down.

IHe has made just four appearances for John Sheridan's side since joining the Latics last month.

"I've been told I will be out for six to eight weeks, but hopefully I can get back before then," Kilkenny told Oldham Athletic's official website.

"But obviously I don't want to rush back and then have to pull out again injured, so we'll see how it goes.

"They originally said three weeks but I went for the scan the other day and that showed a tear in the thigh muscle right from the top to near the bottom.

"I've had it for a while and it came back in the first five minutes of the Bristol Rovers game, but I carried on.

"I couldn't run at all and was dragging my leg behind me; they broke from corners a couple of times and I couldn't catch their guy when I ran back to cover.

"Before I couldn't really sprint but had a certain change of pace, but on Saturday I didn't even have a change of pace, it had gone completely."

Poor Neil. I wish a quick recovery.

I was hoping he'd go on to play brill for Oldham and give Brucie something to think about.

That sounds dreadful - that he was playing on even though injured, and not able to perform well anyway, til he completely messed his leg up.

Maybe it is just how the words come across, but I would hope players, physios and management would have more sense.
