Before the season started i said Brucey would be out on his ear after 10 games. After Satursday dismal performance it might be sooner. I personally like Bruce and always have done, however i feel he has lost his way a little and is slowly running out of ideas. Some of the blame lies with the board in restricting SB spending fund over the summer which has ultimatuely seen us buy second rate fringe players who are now struggling to cope with the quality that is seen in the premier league. Yes we have signed Kapo and ridgewell who for me are the 2 best signings but the rest leave a lot to be desired. We currently have a good championship side at best and a relegation premiership side. It is clear IMO before the season started the board and manger decided we were going to accept that we are going to be in a relegation battle rather than saying we going to prove pundits wrong, buy established big signings and making our mark. The reason the mood around the club is so bad is the fact that IMO the fans wanted to see some big names down there to bring some excitement around St Andrews but the clubs lack of ambition and unwilling to pay premiership prices for premiership players will ultimately in IMO see us relegated again this season! |

not the most negative , just the most realistic fans and most fed up of blues being the laughing stock of the midlands and not being the club they could be if the ambition and resources were there. |

Their are only two teams form the midlands in the prem. Us and viler so even if we get relegated we are so far from being the "laughing stock". Just remember this is our first season back in the prem, most promoted teams often go straight back down! |

Thats your opinion, but it doesn't mean it's going to be right. But i'll still be looking forward to the season in the championship! |

Yeah but come on Bootgaz, most promoted teams go straight back down so thats ok and its more fun in The Championship because Blues win more games and Brucey is happier at that level. So lets go down eh :P |

The funny thing is Bootgaz, while you're doing this demoralising stuff on the Blues site, I'm doing stuff like on your AV-FC site! :redcard: |

If Bruce is on such thin ice why did they renegotiate his contract? |

He isn't on thin ice, its a thank you for never questioning their lack of ambition, and they won't be around to pay him off if he was to get sacked in the future, so why are they going to worry? jobs for the boys and all that. |

Give him the first ten games. Then give him until Christmas. Then give him until Easter. Then give him until the end of the season. Then give him next season to get us back up. Then if he gets us back up give him an improved contract. |

But the letter in the Post isn't even accurate, its Jermaine not Germaine, Izzet retired 18 months ago while it seems to suggest he is still here, and Pennant left to join Liverpool and was about the only success of that season. Saying that, I do agree that any new contract for Bruce should be torn-up until the ownership situation is resolved. I can't help but agreeing with other posters that any new contract issued by the current board is simply a "thank you" gesture from them to Bruce and would hamstring Yeung if he wanted to install a new man (should he take-over the club) |
