Sunday Mercury; Mr Yeung

Now, I know I haven`t seen any thread according to the above topic and due to my ignorance, didn`t see the Sunday Mercury last weekend, so sorry if I`m boring you guys and lasses.

I was told that Yeung has said that we wouldn`t be getting any money at all come January, unless we drastically improve. Is this correct ??

If so, what the heck are we going to do ?? IMO I think in this case, albeit I have been an SB for a long time, I think he`s taken us as far as he can and think that if any money can be provided, it has to start by refreshing the Manager and backroom staff (Especially Mr Eric Black, who I feel has been our downfall.)

I`m sorry to sound defeatist but it`s only an opinion. What are your thoughts ? Do you think money will be readily available if the managership changes or is this just paper gossip??

Thanks. Roy

If this is true then it means that Mr Yeung is planning to replace SB in readiness for the Jan transfer window, if we continue to look as if we will be relegated.
He would be wise using the time until the end of November to identify a replacement manager and get him the match videos to look at plus a player assessment carried out by a football consultant (SM perhaps?)

I don't read it, so don't know. But I would think it pretty stupid anyway.
To say whether you are giving your man any money or not giving him any money. Seems pointless when you don't own the club and are just a quarter of the major ownership.

I think you dreamed it.

First of all Eric Black hasn't been our downfall. We were in decline, even when Bowen was here. ...and our only spike in form of a positive note, has been the run last season, where Bruce attributed the turn around, down to Eric Black taking on more duties. Bruce basically said, he let him, take more responsibility and it reaped dividends.

Secondly, Yeung is only a shareholder, and not pulling all the strings down Blues, until this take over happens. When it does, it is his perogative, if he keeps/releases Bruce. If we are struggling, I do envision a change of manager. ...As every manager, owner, wants to put their stamp of things.

If this drags on tho, I see a no show in Jan regarding money from our current Board and Mr Yeung, no matter what position we may be in.

The reason we face a season of struggling and life at the bottom of the table is because we've spent a pathetic £7million on transfers this summer.

We missed out on Mido because Boro offered better personal terms and he tore us apart on Saturday.

£7million spent on the squad in the summer is nothing considering the prize for promotion was £50million.

We will never compete on the pitch until we compete off it.

Even Sunderland spent £30million on players this summer.

I will slate the manager's ability when and only when he has been put on a par with every other manager in the division.

More like 14 million was spent, of course the board are to blame for all of the on the pitch calamities aren't they.

Like i say put Bruce in charge of Barcelona and Henry would end up left back.

I wont blame him till hes on a par with all of the other managers :LMAO: Priceless

Really do wish his family would stop coming on this board.

I await the fatwah

no, i actually agree with that.

don't get me wrong i am not Steve Bruce's biggest fan but in the world of football he is respected as a good manager with a strong future ahead of him.

when i stand back and look at what's happening i think his biggest problem is accepting the same old tosh from the board season after season, but then what is he to do - speak out and he'll be fired.

this board has continually failed to back this manager other than with words. part of me would like to see how he performs with no restrictions put upon him. i just worry that too much time has passed and he will not be given the chance by supporters!

I also agree

The problems at BCFC aren't solely down to Bruce or the board - its an amalgamation of poor decision making and incompetence by all in equal measures.

Basically, I believe the club is being run badly at all levels. While it seems that the existing owners are going to exit there is still the problem for the new owner that much of the remaining infrastructure will remain and therefore any improvement will be extremely slow.

we've made some astute signings, but spending just £7m when the likes of Fulham and Wigan and splashed loads really shows what the current board want to achieve.

the sooner Carson is in full control the better

When you put things into perspective, and the likes of Fulham and wigan are out spending, you will encounter problems.

Bring on the new borad, its certainly a case of the current one, taking their eyes off the ball.
