I would be tempted to send a scout on a tour of the new EU memeber states, such as Latvia, Lithuania Estonia, Bulgaria, Hungary etc... I bet there is a great little player waiting to be discovered and no hassle with work permits

Whatever happened to 'The Sausage' from Poland

Forget his name now but is he still scoring frequently over there ?

Or has he given up the game and progressed on to dairy produce

Forget Eddie Johnson

Scoring goals in the MLS doesn't mean a lot when it's likened to our League One....good league for celebrity 'cast-offs' like Beckham and Angel

Not many American strikers make it here....McBride of Fulham maybe the exception but there was a lot of hyupe about Fredie Adu coming here (with Chelsea or Man United) but it came to nothing

Dempsey (Fulham) and deBeasley (Man City) both look a little out of their depth

Best American player in the PL right now is a goalkeeper.............Brad Friedel

Roberto Soldado from Madrid.

Rarely gets a game these days and would come within the Brucemeisters theoretical budget of 11 million.

I saw him a few times before Capello took over at Madrid... just when Soldado got promoted from their "b" team. Thought he did ok. Didn't he go out on loan last season? Would suggest that he's not really wanted there and I was impressed with him before. Only problem is he's still quite young and inexperienced, and didn't really seem strong enough for the Premier League. Maybe he's improved since then? But he did seem kind of light weight. Still, I wouldn't begrudge a player of his ability the chance to prove himself in England with us ;)

Yes he played for Osasuna last season on loan and this season hes gone back to Madrid, he doesnt seem to be getting much of a look in at the moment, also yes he is filling out but he can handle the physical side of things and has a great eye for goal, have been impressed with him whenever ive seen him play.

I know he probably wouldnt want to leave Madrid but hes a quality forward who can only improve, there would be no harm in trying a cheeky bid for him, hes the sort of quality we need as they say if you dont ask you dont get :P
