Now before you ask why Queudrue on the wing, i think hes a good crosser of the ball and pace isnt to bad, some cover provided also. Infact Iam tending to lean towards the second option. What you guys think?

..........................................Taylor..................................................

Kelly-------------Ridgewell--------------Djourou----------Schmitz/Quedreue

---------------------------------Nafti-------------------------------------------

De-ridder----------------------------------------------------Larrson----------

---------------------------------Kapo-------------------------------------------

-----------------O"connor-------------------Forrsell---------------------------

Subs: Jerome/Danns/Muamba/D.Johnson/Jaidi/Kingson

This is what i think would suit our system and what would suit the players we have, and i have gone for o"connor/forsell up front on form ,o"connor has played quite well everytime hes come off the bench and forrsell looks like his back, jerome looks like he is lacking a bit of confidence, larrson and de-ridder down the wings with kapo just behind the front 2 and nafti giving the defence a helping hand and the defence basically picks itself :D

--------------------------Taylor-------------------------

Kelly------Djourou-------Ridgewell---------Shmitz

Larson-----Palacios---------Nafti-------------Kapo

---------Jerrome---------Forsell

Subs: DeRidder, Muamba, Danns, O'connor, Kingson

If there's one place that they're going to be dangerous is down the flanks because of their pace so we need a front two to close them down on the edge of their box and force them to play long, if Carew isn't playing even better (if he is we have to make sure we pick up the second ball). I've gone for Larson over DeRidder simply due to the fact that his work rate and defensive capabilities are better. I just have a feeling that Forsell is confident at the moment (yes I know they've been reserve games but strikers thrive on confidence) and in this game I can't see any of the strikers having much time on the ball and Forsell's footwork is more likely to get him clear of the defender. I also feel that Jerrome's willingness to make himself available down the flanks will help Forsell and Kapo by creating gaps in the middle of their defence. Leave Forsell on for an hour and then bring on O'connor. I know Palacios is a risk with his current situation but the atmosphere could help him to forget about his problems for 90 mins, if it looks like he's struggling change it for Muamba. Did think of not having a GK sub but then couldn't see who would go in goals like the horse did when Vassen got injured.

My heart says 2-1 blues but my head says 1-1, just don't think either team wants to lose it.

Birmingham midfielder Wilson Palacios insists he is ready to play in the derby clash with Aston Villa on Sunday.

The Honduras international remains deeply concerned over the safety of his kidnapped younger brother, but has told Steve Bruce he is available for selection.

Palacios was left out of the trip to Everton as Bruce felt he had, understandably, been affected by the events off the field surrounding 15-year-old Edwin Rene.

But the St Andrews boss is more than happy to welcome Palacios back into the fold, after admitting they missed his presence in the defeat at Goodison Park.

"Wilson goes home after the weekend because he's due to play for Honduras against Guatemala in Miami," Bruce told the Birmingham Mail. "It's all been a big concern for us, and the safety of his brother has been uppermost in all of our minds.

"What has helped him enormously is being around the place still with the lads, who are looking after him.

"Last week, after the news of the kidnapping came out, I felt he was constantly on the telephone into the early hours and wasn't mentally right.

"However, I do believe we missed him slightly. He gives something to the team which Oubina would have brought, that composure on the ball and ability to pass it.

"He comes into the equation again, that's for sure, and he's made it clear he wants to get back out there on the pitch again before he flies home.

"The kid is desperate to play. He'd play three games in a day if he could.

"We have been mightily impressed with him ever since he's joined us and he's shown great strength to handle this whole situation."

a winning team................ **thumbup

:Blues:

Might have to change it as I've just heard Wilson Palacios is desperate to play

Maybe I'd put in Wilson in the central attacking midfield role and move Larsson back to the right flank with De Ridder back on the bench

Sorry Danny........just feel like Palacios could finally find the right stage for one of those long range 'belters' and he looks a powerful bloke on the ball

Wouldn't that be nice :applause:

Knight and Laursen are slow, powerless defenders. This is not a time to be putting Cameron Jerome on the bench, he'll eat them alive.

I'd love to see Forssell play, I assume it's either him or Kapo and Kapo has been our most consistent goal scorer.

I'm not sure I'd risk anything beside a 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 because Villa are dangerous on the wing, although I'm sure Kelly will be able to keep Young in his back pocket.

I'm glad Djourou is back because we need someone with pace on Gabby.

mine would be

Taylor

Kelly-Djourou-Ridgewell-Schmitz

DeRidder-Nafti-Muamba-Palicous

-Kapo-

-Jerome-

Subs:
Kingson
Forssell
O'Conner
Larsson
McSheff

I would swap palicous and kapo around in the game.and bring fors on in the 2nd half and bring either nafti or muamba off..

I agree I'd be happy with that side tbh although it looks like from what Bruce said today, Quedure wont be playing for a while until he loses a few more pounds and increases his fitness and pace.
