4-4-1-1 at home. Wrong! We dont have the right players for that system. A semi-fit Jerome leading the line as the sole striker in the first half. Wrong! Even fit he is not prolific enough. Wilson Palacios chosen despite going through family tragedy and anquish. Wrong! No matter how much he wanted to play, surely common sense should prevail. He was never at the races today. Changing things in the second half. Right! But by then we had wasted half of the match and where playing catch up. To those who still support this tactfully incompotent manager. Wrong! Eleven points from a possible 39! Just because there are sides still below us doesn't make that right. We are three points off a relegation spot and right now I make us certs for the third relegation position at the end of the season. I just hope that this awful day will be when fans wake up to Bruce's limitations and start demaqnding a change. |

wrong is playing to villas strengths !!!when they didnt even have a right midfielder playing.Danger man was always going to Young , so we try and attack down there strongest side their left . Mellberg right back for god sake!!! We should have played 4-4-2 with balance, mcsheffery on left. :boohoo: To late now they.................. |

I agree about the tactics. However our defending has been shocking on too many occasions this season and today was no different. Our defending is costing us too many points, more so than the formations. If we had a little bit more composure at times we'd have more points in the bag. Good decision for the Force to come on, but taking off Jerome unless he was injured was a poor decision and we lost movement into the channels and subsequently fell too deep in our own half. We are heading back where we came from unless we get more investment in the team and unless we can start defending better. |

In terms of Palacios playing, different people react in different ways to external pressure. Think of the Leeds United situation with their players on trial. Woodgate's form fell to pieces but Bowyer hit the form of his life. I think playing on the left may have been an equal factor in Wilson's anonymous performance. |

You've got it spot on Bluediver, no matter what anyone else says. The need to start 442 is as noticable as dogs b*llocks, so I don't know why Bruce can't see it. |

If we had played 4-4-2 with the force and o'connor up front,Larrson on the right and De Ridder on the left attacking Mellbourg,we would have won but no,Boring Bruce wants a 0-0 again. It is time for a change. |

I dont know how anyone can argue against these comments. Starting with one up front in a Blues Villa derby at home is little short of scandelous and it was the reason why we didn't win. |

I agree. How anybody can argue with the fact is beyond me. Blues have lost SIX out of the last SEVEN and won only THREE games all season. At that rate, relegation is a certainty. |

It's all very well saying he's trying to assemble a team that's 'difficult to beat', but the stats show that the system he is starting with week in week out is leaking goals and scoring NONE whatsoever. Whenever he reverts to 4-4-2 with two strikers and Kapo on the wing, we become more positive. The best method of defence is attack anyway. |

Bring on Kevin Keegan. At least Palacios or Kapo will get a central midfield place and Jerome / Forssell / O'Connor will be supported from midfield and be encouraged to play without shackles. Will CY grasp the nettle? |

CY employs football brains to do this thinking for him. Will he heed their advice? |

I Spoke to a lot of people at at the half time and at the end of the Game, I could not find one person who agrees with Bruces 4-4-1-1 tactics or supports him anymore, its so overdue for a change it hurts. |

I'm not calling for the managers head but how Bruce has managed to stay in the job with his premiership record I have no idea, granted he kept us afloat but I think that's all he can possibly do if 'he' has a good season, if I performed that badly in my job, I would no longer be in it..... ......poor tactics for one and I'm sick of seeing 'good' players having the goodness coached out of them....... The mind boggles... Matty. |
