We need a few home-grown players. You could see how much it meant to Agbonlahor (sp?) to score today. That type of player really makes a difference.

If not home-grown, then very much workmanlike - like Devlin, Horsfield, Kenna, Clapham, Clemence etc. were. We're lacking that extra bit of fire.

yeah i thought sadler should have played today. I dont understand why he hasnt been given a chance either. I mean last time we were in the premiership he held his own and was one of our best players at the back end of the season.

For sure, so there must be a fall out with Bruce.
and whynot, Bruce seems to fall out with most of them in the end.............. :crying:

Sadler had a bust up at the end of last season.

Everyone said it, and "Inside men" (joking apart) said so.

No other reason why he would've been left out after playing so well.

Blues are in need of an injection of cash, a settled boardrom and a new main stand!

A new main stand?

The stadium is big enough as it is. We could do with downsizing it.

I thought Schmitz did really well today, stuck to his task well and showed real committment.

I was actually calling for Sads to start today but Scmitz certainly didn't let us down.

Main stand is big enough, but is old scruffy and the fans deserve better facitities for the price they pay. Playing Sads, sadly would not have won todays game. My original three suggestions of what Blues need still stands with me.

My impression was that we completely failed to win the ball in the air. Villa played hoofball and nearly every time the villa forward would either flick it on or even bring it under control. When we tried the long ball, Jerome was invariably beaten in the air. Neither Ridgewell not Djourou are your old fashioned bone-headed centre halfs who will head it away all day against those tactics. Brucie should have played.

Would have been a different game if Roger Hynd was playing. ;)

I think Sadler would have played had there not been ample competition for places in the LB role.
