DJ adds nothing to the team other than hard work...he will never ever ever score or setup goals....ok you can say he can play the defensive role but imo nafti has been more successful in that position this year

:applause: :applause: :applause:

Two very important points.

And Where The Hell Is De Ridder ... :banghead:

I am really concerned that we will lose DeRidder to another team, without him being given a fair chance. He must start in the next match for us.

Put Larsson in the centre, instead of Muamba, and put De Ridder right.

------------------  Doyle  ---------------------

Kelly  ---  Ridgewell  ---  Jaidi  ---  Murphy

De Riddler  ---  Nafti  ---  Larsson  ---  Kapo

----------  Zarate  ---  Forssell ---------------

Scout check out my post on the Johnson thread a couple of minutes before you posted this.

I said exactly the same midfield for an attacking formation

I think you can play Nafti or DJ but not both.

Regarding De Ridder, i personally dont think hes good enough yet to be starting, he's lightweight and loses the ball too easily for me he needs to improve his all round game and needs to mature a bit (physically that is)

Blues are in a battle and for me he wouldnt be the first id choose in a team battling for their Prem lives.

I have always been a big fan of Daniel de Ridder. His technique is fantastic and I follow him on every club he plays. I'm from Holland, Ajaxfan, so I was very sad when Ajax sold him. In october, november he was always at the first eleven. What to think about his awesome match against Wigan... De Ridder has to get back at the first 16. Steve Bruce was clearly a fan, McLeish isn't :(

Zatre and De Ridder are too talented for Blues...McLeish only wants players who will ''put in a shift''....ie run around a lot, huff and puff but create little

If our team includes Kapo, McFads, De Ridder, Zarate, that would be good enough scare the !"£$ out of any team, and we would defo make a charge out of the relegation zone.

Is there any possibility that he will play next week? Or at least that he will be at the first 16?

DeRidder was useless against Blackburn. He couldn't do anything, he couldn't even take a corner!

he's not the only player to have had an off day now is he, and why is it the of others such as mcsheff and oconner got another crack of the whip and if mcfadden was to be judged by the same merit he would not have played against West Ham where he showed he was a better player than in his first 2 full appearances, and what may i ask also as Zarate done to not have got a start, me thinks yer a bit harsh on De Ridder

I will agree certain players need a run in the side. Zarate didn't play so well for the reserves by all accounts. I would like to see DeRidder get some chance.

It looks like De Ridder will get NO CHANCE under McLeish:

Even if he trains better than everyone else and stars in de reserves, he seems not to be in the plans of McLeish.
So he probably moves to another club in the summer.

McLeish gives - till now - NO SUPPORT to him at all in the media, unlike Zarate:
Ain't that strange ...

It'd be great to see De Ridder given a fair chance, other players who have been pretty rubbish have had more chances than De Ridder, but as long as they run around like headless chickens they stay in the team.

Given our position you'd expect every player to cover a fair distance, but we're crying out for creativity, yet like mentioned we constantly start with three midfielders who have little to no creativity or ability to do so, I just want to see De Ridder and Zarate given a fair chance, we have enough work horses :crying:, we don't have enough creativity and skill, doesn't take a genius does it.

Played fantastic in the reserves against Arsenal was the best player on the pitch by a country mile, thought he would definatly get a shout in the side against Sunderland not even on the bench just like today, why is Mcleish not fielding the strongest side which i feel would include De ridder.

Simple: he cannot defend ! would leave us wide oped down the flank and with queudrue not being the fastest left back in the world, say no more maybe a little differrent with murphy

I do agree that de ridder has class i just wish he was six foot two and 14 stone and loved playing in the middle of the park !! lol :LMAO:

tell you what, forget the other teams that'd scare the !"£$ out of me let alone them; 4 players who have fantastic creativity but aboslutely no defensive attributes amongst them. then you add Larssen - he's played well enough to keep his place so there's antoher attacking player. then you need a striker as Zarate plays deep so you have Forssell or Jerome and there's another attackiing player....

there's a word for your suggestion - suicide!

what i have seen of him he looks like he has real quality
absolute minimum a place on the bench
can beat a man and get a cross over
can be a bit greedy at times
but can give any full back plenty to think about
so
while they are busy defending it stops them raiding forward
im not saying he is a world beater or am i saying he should play every minute of every game
but he must get a chance he has nothing wrong in the reserves

What is all this rubbish about the Scottish mafia, and playing favourites because they are scot ?

We have 2 scottish players.
One bought by Alex and one bought ( and hardly used by Steve).

Some mafia.

O'Connor had his chance as did Cameron. Zarate and De Ridder will get theirs, but they have got to force themselves onto the bench or into the team.

Alex has gone out of his way to support and praise Mauro, and has asked for patience from the fans. I don't know the case regarding Daniel, but the bits I've seen of him in last year's Euro, are not what I've seen at St Andrews or on the web. Its a matter of opinion if he is doing the business in the reserves, and it is the manager who has to judge when his time comes.
