I'm still of the same opinion, if we have any chance of signing him we should, when Ronaldo first came to the Prem exactly the same things were said about him, pretty but no end product, look at him now, I have no doubt that Zarate will be (and already is to a certain extent) an extremely good player, I just hope he spends a season or two with us, either way we'd win, quality player on the books, and if we do have to sell I should imagine it would create a tidy profit.

Wow!! I registered here to read comments about Zarate from the fans. I'm not a Birmingham fan but have liked what I have seen of Zarate, the little time he has been on, from Sydney.
For those who like what they see and wish to keep him at Birmingham, you are right, you'll have a hard time if others come involved in bidding for him, but good luck.
For those that say that he doesn't pass and more....well perhaps he is tired of warming the bench and he is trying hard to show that he is better than that.
In my opinion, Zarate is more Maradona than Messi eventhough I am a big Messi fan. Messi runs fast at the player then switches direction and so on. Zarate is slower and will stand still then go left, right, forward, reverse and he just confuses the defence. Not bad at free kicks either. Great to watch.

Zarate will do what Tevez did for West Ham, if you let him play. Just give him time. Whether he stays is another thing.

Great post :applause:

Agreed.

How many times did Ronaldo pass on the weekend when there were players in a better position? Not once.

Do Man Utd fans criticise him, or do they just admire the great man at work?

Exactly my point, he is a dribbler and will run at the opposition defence as he is young and has loads of confidence, he is a player we need at this club, someone that can make something out of nothing.

Though as I have stressed countless times he needs time.

Exactly, we would be mad to let this one slip through our fingers. OK he's a rough diamond but he has the ability to make an impact on a game now. Imagine what he could be like if we was to develop his skills in the Prem??

The only reason he is'nt at a higher level already is because he went to Qatar, but he still has age on his side.

Also if the board are'nt sure about shelling out for him then they need to think about what the potential sell-on price would be. Like I said he's only 20, we could get a few seasons out of him and make a profit.

We need to be buying players like Zarate, to signal our intentions to move forward as a club to other players who we might want to sign.

If we don't sign him though it will be good to see him make it at a top club in a few years and then we can say we saw him play at the Blues, just like Bendtner **thumbup

Good points there but the problem is I dont want him to be the next Bedtner, a gem of a player that we just couldent afford, we need to be investing in these kinds of players for the club to go forward in my opinion.
