Anyone know whether you need to buy a ticket for an 18 Month Old kid to go to a match?

If not then what age does a Kids ticket kick in at?

Cheers.

at 18 months you should leave them at home, they wont watch the game and will only get board and stop you from enjoying the game
Sorry if this sound negative but its a leason I learn't the hard way.

I took mine from 5 and 7, it took the 5 year old 2 years before he realy watched the full 90 minutes.
18 months, let the lad play at home, if you did take him I would guess there would be no charge as he would be in your arms going in.

unfortunatly i think you would have to pay :(

i took my boy who was a couple of months short of his 2nd birthday and was told by the ticket office that i had to pay

when i got to the turnstille the geezer couldnt belive that i had to pay for him

anyways having got back to blackpool i emailed the club asking them why they charge for kids that age ,dont get me wrong im not going on about paying for someone that age its just that when they are that young they dont have a seat to themselves ,they sit on your lap and go to sleep :)

anyway the response i got back from the club was ,the reason we charge for young children is incase something happens at the ground and we need to evacuate and then we know how many people are in the ground by ticket sales :LMAO:

so how many people without tickets who have come to the ground ie a good friend on the gates who let people in for free or how many players friends or family have got in hmmmm

the answer to your question is you wont have to pay for him if you go straight to the turnstille but you will have to pay if you mention it to the ticket office

The old `not taking up a seat=no ticket needed` days are behind us unfortunately. You still need to buy them a ticket, last time we took our neice it was £7.00.

Who would be happy being sat next to a screeming baby, wrigling and squirming and kicking. Maybe just maybe the club are thinking of their paying customers for once ? Just playing devlis advocate like.

I can't believe some people on this thread. :(

If I didn't take my 5 year old lad to games then I'd never be able to get to a game. No babysitter etc. He started off last season a bit restless, watched the first 20 minutes or so and then wanted to go home!!

He's fine now though, knows all the players names and when I give him his ticket the week before the match, he puts it under his pillow and treats it like a golden ticket to willy wonka's factory!! and (incredibly) he understands that we can't win every week :)

One thing I do though is avoid the family section, too many screaming kids ;) and whenever i've been sat there the view is rubbish.

the chances of it being next top me are remotely slim as i am a season ticket holder and at least three to four either side of me are also, but thats beside the point, when they tell blatant and stupid lies.

My lad is just 6 and loves it...it's his second season as an ST holder and he watches every minute of the game....knows the words from start to finish of KRO and wouldn't speak to me this morning because he cannot go on a school night... :D

I can understand you wanting to take them early so its ingrained ;) You'll find that the shouting, cheering singing etc might scare them, It did my lad first time he went and he was 5 at 18 months there still babies really, just my experience. **thumbup

Don't take him.
He could be scared to death with the noise, and might even get injured if people jump about when/if a goal is scored.
You are more likely to put your kid off football for life by taking him at that age in such a noisy and, from an 18month old perspective, intimidating atmosphere.
age 5 -7 year olds are difficult enough to settle, but an 18 month old is not good at all - unless you are in a box of course :D
