If we stay up I'm sure Alex McLeish will be looking at a new GK and 2 CB's first and foremost. With Ridgewell and possibly Pearce as the back-up's.

Maybe a new CM aswell, but I don't think anyone knows what our best midfield is at the moment. There is still time for players like Muamba and Kapo to make their positions theirs to keep. Seb Larsson is the only midfielder who is 100% nailed on to be in the XI next season.

We also might be in for a new striker, hopefully Zarate **thumbup :banner:

I don't want to think about a team for the championship though.

I agree with both of these points, Zarate is a must and the championchip side bleh if you want that go talk to a Derby fan, we dont want to hear even the slightest mention of that word, we need to stay possitive.

Kapo doesn't have enough bottle or stamina for the Prem so he will be shipped out if we stay up. Clearly he won't be interested in staying to play in the Championship.

If we go down to the championship (we WONT), then McFadden will still be our striker.

He is here because he BELIEVES in McLeish, McLeish can also get the best out of McFadden, and he knows this will stand him in good stead for the national side.

Make no bones about it - in a club V country situation McFadden would choose country, and that's why I believe he would stay - because it will help his chances for Scotland (he's not guaranteed a place for Scotland).

Just my two bobs worth.

I also see a mass clear out regardless of where we are - and I expect the Forse to go. :(

Thanks for the information Beegee that has saved me a lot of money on buying the Evening Mail over the next six months to read pointless who is coming and and who is going transfer talk.

Champioship team:

--------------------Doyle------------------

Parnaby-----Jaidi----Pearce----Murphy-

New----Johnson----Nafti------Aluko--

------------Jerome----McSheffrey--------

OUTS:
Muamba - £6m
Kapo - £3.5m
Larsson - £4m
McFadden - £5m
Kelly - £4m
Forssell - Free :crying: - tragic as we won't be able to extend his contract
Maik Taylor - Free
DeRidder - £2.5m
Ridgewell - £1.5m

I think they're pretty fair prices based on the age and performance of a lot of these guys this year, meaning £26.5million in. That leaves us with £26.5m + parachute payments to secure our finances and then splash out on a few good championship players, e.g. Michael Kighley for right-mid.

Why does everyne think McFadden would leave?

I don't for the reasons given previously.

He'd also tear it up in the championship...
