I am totally shocked with tonites preformace, i really can believe how we preformed tonite.

I honestly thought by the way we have been playing in recent weeks, we would have give newcastle one hell of a beating, but, yet again the team have choaked big time.

I dont know what is wrong with us... we play top of the league teams and are fantastic, but when it comes to bottom halp teams, were medioka (spelling), and these types of preformances are totally unacceptable.

I am a HUGE fan if big al, but he got it all wrong tonite i feel.... how McSheffery played a full 90mins is an absolute joke, he offered us nothing all night.

Zarate only getting 5mins in the end..... well that also baffled me, and replacing him with McFadden... WTF, he should of replaced MeSheffery after 50mins, that would of give him a decent amount of time to scare the newcastle defence s**tless.... or even could of came on instead of parnaby coz Larrsson was injured.

Forrssel was rather poor and rightly subbed.

Muamba....... well had a good game imo, but in the last 3rd of the pitch, well it shocks me, he does not know what do fo with the ball.

Johnson..... as someone mentioned earlier.... was chasing shadows, should be replaced with nafti next game.

Taylor has a fantastic game in goal again, top keeper!!

Is that Taylor remark sarcastic? He blocked a few shots but never took control of the situation defensively and he looked like his gloves were covered in grease. He couldn't hold onto the ball all night.

WE had teh first half they had the second,if we was to have all the second half and they had the first would you be complaining about the performance?

To be honest i thought we looked tired towards the end,we pulled a point away from Bolton today with there game in hand against Man Utd.

I thought it was a fair result for both teams.

It was a fair result after the performance, I agree. But I'm complaining about our performance. We should've done better than that.

True we pulled away from Bolton, but I think it's Fulham who will come out of that group. Bolton's run in is shocking but Fulham have got some winnable ganes coming up INCLUDING DERBY.

when kapo is back on the left and larson on the right we will be ok..

mcsheff was an empty shirt tonight...its ok defending but there was no attacking threat from him ...again..

the substitution (parnaby for larson) didnt help...with no attacking threat from mcsheff, a right back on the right wing and two defensive midfielders we were always gonna struggle to score..

muamba was our best player..

damien johnson was.............damien johnson...out of his depth as usual..

at least we didnt lose..

I'm not shocked tonight.

This is Blues, we never do anything the easy way. I'm disappointed we didn't go on and build on our first half performance, but thats been the story for most of the season, we just can't stay focused and control the game for long enough periods to see off the opposition when they have a good spell.

The main thing is, we didn't lose the game, not much consolation, but every point we get is potentially another point toward safety while we are out of the bottom three at least....

I'm fearful though, although our goal difference is decent compared to everyone around us, i think our inability to keep clean sheets and grind out a result may send us down, we need to score twice to have any chance of winning a game and thats always going to be a tall order.....

i agree but i'll be honest i don't think Zarate offers us anything. Yeah he runs about and yeah he put his foot in, but he really isn't what we need. what we need is players who press the ball. we hoof it still, i thought those days were over. If Mcleish can accept that as a performance and a point then he's no better than Bruce. Good job i'm not incharge, those players would still be sitting in that dressing room. We didn't look like a team, we looked like a shambles.... Zarate, Parnaby, Maik Taylor, forssell, Mcsheffrey dare i say DJ have all got to be shipped out come summertime. they offered nothing tonight. you only need to look at Mcfaddens performance to see whats needed.

i agree we always seem to have to score at least 2 to seal a win.

is a major problem.

Think some on here need a reality check.

We played garbage tonight, we're down near the foot of the table because, with a few notable performances otherwise, we are garbage.

What do you all expect? Perhaps if you didn't dismiss our opponents before every home match, there'd be less of this OTT knee-jerk reaction every time we don't win.

My tuppence worth, the defence is garbage.

anyone else think forssell was mega-slow, & looked very unfit is strange because against spurs & few other games he has looked very sharp & now just looks like he's back to square 1??

I think maybe AM should try Zarate upfront with Faddy, would be an exciting strikeforce.

McFadden was a constant thorn in their side...
Ridgewell is a worry (why did he catch that ball for no reason?); was he the only one in the ground who thought the game had stopped?!

Muamba was excellent, and I think it's unfair to accuse him of failure in the final 1/3 pitch; he had a couple of good shots - OK he did hoof one early on, but him and McFadden were excellent;
my brother, who's a Liverpool fan, actually thought we were very good

but what is most infuriating is this panic defending; how many times could the defence have built something constructive from the back? instead of panicking and hoofing the ball away... real backs-to-the-wall mentality. All what McLeish is trying to inspire - belief - goes up in the air in these situations....

Good first half, we carried on our recent good football.

Awful second half, no work rate whatsoever. Jerome did nothing when he came on. If O'Connor made as little effort in a game then he would have got slaughtered. McLeish needs to kick a few backsides tonight.

We really missed Larsson, we missed his work rate.

Get a grip, hes our bets keeper, kept us in matches this season, if you had one of them Total 90 balls swerving at you at that speed you would be unnervy.

I have made it clear, I'm no Birmingham fan but I did get up early here in Sydney to watch Zarate... How dissapointed I was to have done that because your coach gave him just 5 minutes. Like soomeoe else said, your coach replaces Larsson with Parnaby. What did he do? Parnaby that is. Nothing! At least Larsson fought and took the ball forward. Then the coach when I think is going to bring Zarate on for Fossell, brings another player with a good hair do but nothing else.
The first time Zarate got the ball, in the 90th minute?, he was danger and took a shot and though it wasn't close, it created some concern for Newcastle.
If this is the type of imagination your coach has, perhaps relegation is looming.

I totally agree zarate should have came on half-time for larsson, was a very negative move bringing on a defender for a winger wtf** , & i also expected zarate to come on for forssell, jerome has pace but plays like he has two left feet, & yes the one touch zarate did have was positive got past two newcatle players & had a half decent shot, shame he never had more playing time, could have been 3 points :banghead:

I was not overly disappointed with the result tonight, just look at the Newcastle team and the talent it has, so for me a point isnt a disaster.

I feel where we lost out was a failure to build on a decent 1st half performance but there were some underlying reasons for this as I will comment on below

Losing Larsson was a massive blow and meant we had an outlet going forward off the pitch, as hard as Parnaby tried he isnt Seb, add to this the fact that Newcastle pushed up further in the 2nd half.

Newcastle pushed forward and we sat deeper, this meant that to get the ball to our forwards it was hoofed which it just came back again, thus we lost our shape aswell.

I felt that we should of put McFadden on the right as he was having some success on this side when he wandered over in the first half and would have benefitted from his runs going forward, Newcastle would not of been able to push their fullback on with him there.
And with Jerome on up front earlier we would of had more pace to help us on the break and to close Newcastle down.

All in all we could have done better but a point is an ok result
