He was MOTM last night, how come he never controlled the midfield for blues like he did second half for toon. He was also there best player first half.

He was roundly booed at Newcastle before he came on loan to us, he was not the favorite of many blues fans whilst on loan, with only the odd good performance, but on what I have seen this season he is a changed player, he can play a ball forward now, he could never do that for us. Seems the Toon fans have taken to him.

He was the player that made the difference between the two teams last night , every thing good Newcastle did came through him.

If he was made motm then that is an absolute insult. I can see he would have been motm for the Toon fans as he kicked our best midfielder out of the game, intentionally. But for an independent to give it is a just insulting.

Second half was the nicky butt show he ran the game.

One he got rid of larson who we missed so badly second half, he ran it no one even bothered to close him down!

Im afraid that when larrsson got kicked out the game we seemed to lack any creativity going forward

i just hope that this isnt a start of things to come if we will be missing larrsson for a long time :crying:

Spot on. He was poor in the first half because Larsson and Muamba kept him quiet. He kicked Larsson out of the game (and maybe out of our season) and then had much more space in the second half. Cannot believe that he didn't at least get booked for that challenge on Larsson and having seen the Geremi tackle on Larsson this morning on SSN he can think himself very lucky not to be sent off when you see what Koumas went for on Sunday.

Surely McFadden was the MOTM, he was definitely the most influential player on the pitch and caused Newcastle all sorts of problems.

Sultana Sports had McFadden as MOTM.

Haven't seen who put Butt (licker) as MOTM, but it must be one of the idiots who write for one of the Barcode loving gutter press rags.

I thought muamba was very good yesterday, his passing is getting better and the way he drives forward with the ball and without it now is very impressive. I was concerned with djs performance yesterday he seemed just to slow and was not getting near the newcastle midfield. I thought mcLeish would have thrown nafti on in there becasue dj was giving butt and the others too much time.

If it were not for the Larsson injury, I think Nafti would of played a part.

I'm convinced Blues Fans booing of Butt early in the match motivated him even more, he looked like he wanted to kick the !"£$ out of all our players last night.

He was good for us on the odd game when he was here, but was a bloody mug last night the way he did in larsson, now that was a more cinical tackle than the one Taylor did on Eduardo, so come on where the hell is that Mug Blatter when you need him, its one for Arsenal and then something else for little old Birmingham. :banghead:

Second half Newcastle played their three central midfield players tighter together so that it becamee three on two in the centre of the pitch, and McLeish didn't react to that, keeping McSheffrey and Parnaby out wide. That gave their players a little more time in the middle and the benefit of an extra option. Johnson was doing the smart thing and front-screening Viduka, which left Muamba in against two or three at times.

Dare I say it, Keegan got the better of McLeish last night.

You're dead right. I felt instead of bringing Parnaby on he would have been better bringing Nafti in and beefing the midfield up. Parnaby started well but faded after 20 minutes. Blues have the ability of pulling defeat from the jaws of victory.

What happened to Larsson last night was nothing short of a disgrace.

After everything which has been said about Taylor, you get a player who deliberately injures a player after kicking lumps out of him for 45 minutes without receving a booking for it.

The ref called Butt over while Larsson received treatment and pointed to 4 or 5 different places on the pitch where Butt had kicked out at Larsson. There was no sign of a booking.

For anyone to give Butt MOTM is disgraceful, it advocates deliberate bullying tactics and deliberately targetting players.

Considering 14 of the 15 out playing last night weren't playing Prem football last season, you would think that Ncastle had won the the Euro Cup And AM was managing in Scotland too, I think we didn't get the credit for playing against a team three times our value!

Because form is temporary and class is permanent, Butt is a class midfielder on his day.

Im still aghast at how many Bluenoses expected Newcastle just to roll over and die more than anything.

Does everyone expect that no other team is going to be battling to stay in this league?

People should learn how to appreciate a good performance whether it be from a Blues player or the opposition.

Spot on.

If he'd have played like that in a Blues shirt, I wonder what the reaction would have been then.
