Premier League - Blues office raided
Eurosport - Wed, 19 Mar 15:11:00 2008
Birmingham City's offices have been raided by police who seized financial documents as part of the Lord Stevens corruption enquiry.

More StoriesLord Stevens verdicts: Reactions
The Blues have promised to co-operate in full as the police continue investigations into alleged illicit payments to agents.

Managing director Karren Brady told The Sun: "We are co-operating fully with the police in their investigation, which is in connection with a third party."

Birmingham, in a statement, said: "The club is fully co-operating with the police in their inquiries which relate to an unconnected third party or third parties.

"For the avoidance of doubt no-one connected with the club has been questioned or arrested. No further comment will be made by the club."

No Premier League clubs have yet been found guilty of any wrongdoing in the investigation.

From the BBC Website:

"Police investigating corruption within professional football have raided Birmingham City FC.
Officers swooped at the Premier League club in an "ongoing investigation into football corruption", City of London Police said.

A spokeswoman said it was not linked to the Lord Stevens inquiry into transfers and illegal payments to agents.

The club said the raid related to a police inquiry into "an unconnected third party or third parties".

It said no-one connected with the club had been questioned or arrested."

NOT linked with the Lord Stevens Inquiry.

Don't think it's been mentoned yet but the Telegraph mentioned the football agent Willie Mackay who was arrested along with Harry Redknapp,Peter Storrie,an executive with Pompey and a couple of players (Faye and Chimbonda) and released .......Chimbonda isn't connected to Pompey so that's obviously another unrelated issue ......Don't forget Portsmouth, Newcastle,Rangers and Middlesboro have been raided and investigated too

Blues have done absolutely nothing wrong......this is obviously to do with the sale of Aliou Cisse to Portsmouth (2004 I think, has it really been that long ?? ....another Bruce dream turned nightmare :LMAO: ) in which agent Mackay was involved

I'm sure Karen has kept the receipt and the paperwork :applause:

No need to panic wtf**

Better not mention George Graham for a while eh,proccy ???

Seriously though, it was the Fraud Squad who visited. Apparently Damien Johnson has been trying to pass as a Premiership player.

There's a difference between a Blues fan and somebody who thinks anybody wearing a Blues shirt is Premiership class.

If only other Premiership managers felt like yuu Bluerinse, then one of them would have bought him during the summer of 2006. Sadly they don't and they didn't.

PS I don't dislike DJ ,it's just that I know his week-in week-out selection is the chief cause of our current relegation predicament.

Priceless absolutely priceless how someone manages to turn a police raid thread into a DJ bashing thread.

Of course two managers are now so wrong that one player can be blamed for our 'relegation predicament'
