The Soaraway may be unreliable, but I dont think you need to be blessed with the power of foresight to work out that some of our better players will be sold. Last time round the Board were promising that we'd keep our big guns - and they were still sold eventually. With this Board money talks and business is their priority, not success.

I doubt that we'd manage to retain McFadden, even if he wanted to stay. He'll attract a decent price and that's all that matters to the owners. I expect Larsson, Forssell, Kapo, Muama, Murphy, Kelly and De Ridder to all attract offers. We will hear talk from 'the Davids' of not giving our best players away - but if the offers are good good enough they'll all go.

In fairness we'll probably buy a few decent Championship players and will probably be an attractive club for players hoping to make the step up to the top flight, who will see us as being a good option. Si it isn't all bad news.

And no matter what anyone says, the reason that we are in a relegation battle is because we didn't strengthen key areas in January and we dragged our heels rather than being decisive in the transfer market. And I rest the blame soley on the shoulders of the owners who, despite promises, have clearly not learned their lessons from the last time we got relegated.

I would be amazed if players like McFadden, De Ridder and Kapo hadn't got a relegation clause written into their contracts. Go down and they'll be gone the second someone stumps up the right amount. The board will get blamed for it regardless, but it's a pretty simple fact that good players aren't going to hang around to play second tier football.

The point is not who may or may not be sold in the event that Blues are relegated (of course there will be changes), but why Gold finds it necessary to comment so candidly on the matter in the first place. How difficult is it to simply say that, "while we have contigency plans in place should the worst happen, all of our efforts are being concentrated on avoiding relegation at all cost and then building onto what we already have over the summer in order to push up the table next season."

I have always been supportive of the board...until this season. First they mess up with the so called takeover by Carson Young by not checking out his credentials, then SB leaves and good fortune would have it that we get a great manager AM. But then in january they make a right c**k up of the purchase of Cahill with no contigency plans. Result, defensive inadequacy.
Now they want me to buy a ST again with a 10% reduction if I pay by this friday, with no guarantee of which division their team will be in. They are asking me to invest in their company. Put the football aside and ask yourself, Would you invest in a company with that track recover over the last 9 months?.
Now DG is on about the selling of players with 7 games to go.
On friday I was going to renew this week, but I think I will wait now.

I dont think the 10% off is a bad offer. Even if we do get relegated do you think ST prices will fall? Not a chance. They'll spin the line about getting more games for your money so the prices will stay the same.

However, last season that many matches were discounted that there was little advantage to being a ST holder. I can see the same happening again.

david gould has admitted there will be a fire sale if city do not stay up
with james mcfadden a certain to go as well as forssell
gold said "you have to cut costs and we have plans to do that. the big ticket items have to go. it worked well last time" well let me tell you mr gold your lack of investment in january may cost this club a place in the prem and when season ticket renewal begging letters come round we will not sell our best player we are not aselling club we always have and always will be a selling club with this current board i for one may keep my money in my pocket as you always seem to do. what happened to we have learnt from the mistakes of last time we were in the prem.

Are you a ST holder as I suspect you're not.

Then don't buy one its your choice. but the product you talk about is the team you support so effectivley you are turning your back on them.....

the 10% reduction seems a good deal when you consider after Derby's season they are offering this

Do our ticket prices seem a good deal compared with Derby????.. have you seen their prices. The equivalent to where I sit in Derby's ground is £410 provided they buy before april 12th, but I will have to pay £522 with the 10% reduction (which is actually a 10% increase in what I paid this season) ... So not a good comparision even though they quote price freeze...
But as you say, its my choice. I was only expressing my opinion, not turning my back on the team (which incidentally I have supported for 50+ years), just disapponted in the way the owners have conducted business this season.

As far as i can see the cheapest ticket at Derby is £29 the dearest is £44. I cannot find the pricing for season tickets. so i would say our prices compare to thiers overall.

Their season ticket prices are on page 4-5 of the link...they do not compare. Their top price is 460 if renewed before april 12, 510 after that date. second rung is 410 before April 12, 460 after. This compares with our club class at 607 / 674 and spion cop at 522 / 579. Cheapest Derby ticket 320 / 270. Ours is 361 / 325
http://www.dcfctickets.paperviewer.co.uk/
So effectively they are much cheaper as far as is possible to compare like for like..I would say in the region of £40 at the lower end of the scale to £160 at the top end.
So perhaps our reduction of 10% is not such a good deal after all...especially as i am paying 10% more than this season.

Zarate i would definetly think we have payed a fee so say another £500,000 (maybe more)

Zarate's loan is costing £2m in total.

Sullivan was on Five Live on Saturday saying that the club has to prepare for relegation. He mentioned that 7 or 8 players at least would be sold. No new ground either should we go down.

Our Board is a disgrace, if they had invested the money Blues made by getting promoted we would not be in this predicament. Now unsurprisingly they can't wait to start marketing the players for other clubs to take a look at. Whether this is the case with some of the other clubs down the bottom I am unsure but you don't see their Boards unsettling their players at what needs to be a settled and focused time.

Blues will never become an established Prem team whilst this Board is in place, plain and simple!

I really just hope we survive. The base of this squad is starting to come together.

Give McLeish a full pre-season, let him do what he can do, like O'Neill at vile...first season, struggled to avoid relegation, bought a few players and have been challenging for europe until recently.

Stay up, build the team around Larsson, McFadden, Kapo, Kelly, Murphy, Muamba and Forssell...improve all other areas and improve the overall squad depth, so we dont limit our options in any position (so we dont have to pick the lesser of four evils in Jaidi, Ridgewell, Schmitz and Taylor)

Mick McCarthy (Wolves) was at the Newcastle game to watch Forssell.

The vultures are circling, mind you knowing our Board their most likely being given complimentary seating with free refreshments plus at half time Sulli personally escorts them into the Blues changing room for a half time chat with any players they might like to sign.

After all lets not focus on staying in the Prem, not when we can turn a quick buck by selling all our best players, like I said disgraceful behaviour by the Board.

I think that is obvious that the players would want to leave, some of them are too good for the Championship.

I think the problem here is that the board seem so keen to sell off our most valuable players before the season is decided. Do we need to hear this kind of talk at this moment in time??? We all know what could happen anyway, we all saw it 2 seasons ago.

Now you might say that they are just talking possibilites, but the more cynical amongst us will think that the board are just thinking about the money that they will pocket from sales.

OK now i'm confused Mick McCarthy is the manager of Wolves is he not?

Whats so funny about him showing an interest in Forssell, if the dogheads get promotion he will need a striker or two?

I know lets put all the Blues players up on this site who may be moving on and we can put bloody silly laughing smilies against them all, who gives one eh???????
