Who should we pick to partner the Forse?

Or we could even put Kapo along side him.

But that means keeping in McSheffrey. :(

Zarate played well last match and deserves to keep his spot in the first team ;)

Zarate and Jerome as sub. Zarate is a bit of an unknown so will more difficult to predict compared to O'Connor and Jerome.

Is Richards still out (i hope so). The Man City defense is quite tough and athletic. It might a positive move to start Jerome to harry them a bit, I think Zarate will get bullied off the ball a bit too much.

Tough one this,

On the one hand, Zarate is clearly the better player and did well enough in a poor poor match against Reading to merit his place again. But like you say, the Man City defence will set out to bully someone of his build and style.

On the other hand, Jerome and O'Connor just aren't good enough. Simple as that in my opinon. I know there are people that will keep defending Jerome, but then again there were people who used to think DJC was of an acceptable standard. I certainly think Jerome is the more likely of the two to cause problems later in the game because of his pace and strength but his overall game isn't strong enough for my liking. Personally I would give O'Connor another chance if it was between those two for a starting place, coming to the end of the season, show us what you have got.

If I was McLeish though I would give it to Zarate, see how he gets on first half and then change if needed to Jerome for the second. Best of both worlds then. Zarate gets rewarded for last game, and is our most talented striker up there with the Forse. And if it isn't working for him then get Jerome on in a time of the match where he always looks to be the most effective.

Whats the latest on Kapo?

IMO, Jerome should partner Forssell, & Zarate come on later & run at them, O'Conner i hope he doesn't even come on, he is a league 2 striker at best.

I believe Kapo is fit and available for selection. Not necessarily match sharp though.

I read today Nafti saying he liked playing in the diamond formation we changed to in the Reading game. It certainly worked attacking wise and we did alright defensively seeing as the 2nd goal came from rubbish free kick by us and a good free kick from them.

We could play something like:

--------------------------------Taylor-----------------------------------

Kelly-----------Jaidi-------------------------Taylor-------------Murphy

--------------------------------Nafti--------------------------------------

Larsson----------------------------------------------------------Kapo

--------------------------------Zarate-----------------------------------

-----------Forssell-------------------------------Jerome/ O'Conner--

I can see Zarate being pushed around a bit by Dunne, and while i dont think that he will hide away, i am leaning towards starting Jerome and getting him to attack them, running in behind and getting the crowd up and creating an atmosphere where the Man City players start to make mistakes..

My team:

------------------Taylor----------------------

Parnaby----Kelly------Tiny------Murphy---

Larsson-----Muamba-----Nafti----Kapo---

-------------Forssell------Jerome---------

Subs: Doyle, Jaidi, De Ridder, DJ, O'Connor

But having said that, i believe McLeish will lean towards a Forssell/Zarate partnership after Zarate's goal vs Reading..

:Blues: I think it should be Zarate, if they get physical then it will be free kicks galore with Zarate running at them. then it is down to Larse to convert them into goals.

Sounds simple doesnt it??

i like it, at this point in the table we have got to play our best team, zarate is a country mile infront of jerome and o'conner there for he should get the nod.

also bring in de ridder move larson on the inside with muamba, drop dj, kapo on the left job done

zarate is creative and quick and brings me hope when he's darting in the box,

off topic abit but try zarate with fadders when he's back its the future

Good point.

With Dunne and Onohua at the back, two big strong players... Zarate's mobility and quick feet could force them in to fouls in and around the box.

With Seb bang in form, it sounds good.

I think Jerome physically battling players as quick and strong as himself will just lead to the battle cancelling itself out.

Zarate for me.

I really cannot see Jerome scoring a goal. I get a feeling with Forssell on the ball, same with Zarate, that they may produce something, but with Jerome, and O'Conner, i just think, "Please pass it" because i really cant see them being the player to score a goal when we need one

I'd stick with Zarate and Forssell. I imagine at home their attacking instincts will take over and they'll just go for it. They looked like they were clicking up front together after about 5 or 10 minutes into the second half. I think if McLeish hadn't have brought on O'Connor after Zarate scored, then they could've perhaps gone on to get another one. But I understood why he did what he did. Zarate did look like he was struggling at times and having him play in the hole behind two strikers (and more importantly bringing off McSheffrey after the form he was in during the game) was a positive mood. Unfortunately, it just didn't pay off.

SO, to summarise, I'll stick with Zarate and Forssell up front

It is difficult to coment when i can only watch the games on the internet.

I just wish we weren't always playing catch up in games.
