Well he wont be with us what ever division we are in next season anyway, just think of what happed with Tevez. All the skilfull superstars dont last long untill the big clubs snatch them up. £20m is liek out enitre budget for 3 seasons!

If he stayed up in the opponents box Abit more like the old owen did! then he'll score alot more goals! That to us now..easy worth 10million!

But instead he likes to go past people and amuse the crawd..we dont need someone like that! Worth to us now..nothing!

he needs to be told to stop up top!
and to be played more!

It will come down to player power in the end. Zarate clearly doesn't want to play in Qatar, and this will result in his transfer fee being heavily reduced. Having said that, the best we can hope for is another year of the lad on loan to keep him in the shop window for the bigger clubs, who are more likely to offer something approaching the price tag.

He's worth about £7million id say. He seems to have potential and that's what alot of clubs are willing to pay for.

What the Rags don't seem to understand is that Al Saad did NOT PAY £20m for Mauro. They struck a deal whereby he would play for them, for two years at $10m per year with get-out clauses inc. a Euro top flight team coming in for him.

I'm not sure who got how much but $10m would have been shared between cub, agent and player.

This £20m is nonsense and there's not a team in the World that would lay that out for Zarate on current form. He's undoubtedly talented but he's not Ronaldinho (yet).

from what i have seen he isnt worth more than 6 million

he is very lightweight and i think he will struggle in any top league to become a 20 million pound player

I can see Liverpool or some Spanish side like Valencia or Athletico Madrid buying him for £20m and then him quickly becomming one of the best players in Europe.

I can also see him joining us and turning into a decidedly average player

I think £15m would be fair if a bigger club were after him. However, his Qatar club loaned him to us and gave us a "first come first service" basis if we want to buy him, so I think they'll be realistic and not expect £20m.

Also, I'm pretty sure he did move to Qatar for 10 million pounds sterling, not dollars or euros...

he moved to Qatar for $20 million, so thats about £10 million

All Mauro has to do is go back, slap a transfer request in and say how he doesnt have any intentions of playing for them again so dont price him out of a move, we jump in with £5m-£6m for him and Al-Sadd see theres money on the table for a player who wont play for them, and sell him

When Pierre Van Hooijdonk did that to Nottingham Forest he was slaughtered by everybody connected to the game and rightly so.

Glad you're not Mauro's advisor.

if we could get him for 5 million becasue he did that i would'nt give a flying fig about anyone said about him.

lets face it theres no loyalty with footballers so if it works (which i dont think it would) then start working on him now alex. :D

Over priced.

It's not our fault they paid to much.

Why should we pay for there mistake.

If they are not prepared to cut there losses then keep him.

Don't get me wrong i like the guy and he has a hugh future but he is the icing on the cake when the rest of the squad is sorted out.
