Hey doc, do I support a different team to you? Or am I watching the wrong blues? Don't get me wrong I'm not saying AM is a bad manager, but just how do you come up with the fact that AM has worked wonders, Am I missing something? |

McLeish definitely. But I do admire what Coppell has done at Reading, he proved that you don't have to spend loads of money to make it in the prem. (Although he does always seem miserable :D ) I have absolutely no respect for Keane. He spends nearly 50mil in a year, more than we have in 5 and touted by the media to be great, no!. I know he's only been in the job a year and a half and one day he may make a decent manager, but you could guarantee if he hadn't had such a big transfer kitty 1. he wouldn't have taken the job 2. Sunderland would be lower than Derby. |

if he had'nt come in imo we would have been where fulham are now, this team is no where neer good enough for the prem yet we are still inwith a fighting chance of staying up and the football has improved so much . anyone who can do this with this team has got to be aplauded . |

I don't agree that he has been amazing but I do think he's a better manager than the others you listed. You only need to look at the three he bought in in January to know that. He's got the players more positive and the goals are going in much better than ever with Bruce. However, getting the best out of his defenders is a different thing! |

I agree that he's the best on the list, but still not sure if he has what it takes to motivate the players to stay in the prem, I hope he has. If he does then how long should he be given to make his mark? After all I have heard so many times thatBCFC are a sleeping giant, I think we've been in a friggin coma for too long. |

i dont think it has anything to do with motivation its ability and this team is sadly lacking in that . non of our CD's or CM's are good enough and we only have two forwards that can do a job in the prem. i would say that only. kelly murphy larsson faddy and to a point the forse. the rest are champioship at best so what he has done so far is amazing. |

Don't agree as far as to say that the work he has done so far has been amazing. It has been good, better and looking bright for the future, but not amazing. Am really pleased with McLeish though, he seems tactically very astute, good eye for a transfer, and sounds as if he knows where we need to be strengthened. I like his honesty, and although I know it looks like I am only comparing the two because they are Scottish, there does seem a similarity between him and Moyes at Everton. But I certainly think doc is right about the players that are Prem quality in our team at the moment, we are carrying a good few players that aren't really up to scratch. So in that respect he has done a good job in getting them to pull in the right direction and hopefully this will be enough to make up for the fact that some of them aren't technically good enough players. Oh, and a bit of luck :) KRO |

Well Doc, Ataris, two good sensible posts at last. How refreshing to hear, without having to listen to people who have blue blood running through their veins where blues are the greatest thing since sliced bread. Many people knock me for having an honest opinion, I am blues through and through, but I'm also a realist; and if things aint right then they aint right. I don't have all the answers, but there are many people who come on this forum who talk a lot of sense. You will find in the main they are the older blues fans, people who have been there done it and got the proverbial T-Shirt. I think that some of them would make better managers than some we have seen over the years down the blues. At the end of the day we are not good enough in the prem, who wants to struggle year in year out? Maybe someday we will be good enough, but we have a very long way to go. Okay I've had my spout, I'm happy now. |

Agree with the doc. It is amazing what he has done. Don't forget this is the "young and hungry" philosophy that gave us a team of 95% premiership wannabes instead of a compact determined unit with proven prem experience throughout. He has done very well to hold our lightweight attack, midfield and defence together. We have the best goal difference in the bottom NINE clubs. And we all know what we think of our defence, so that stat needs to be recognised. Gone are the days of One striker chasing a hoof ball into a chanell with no outlet.Time and time again. Three shrewd and good buys in a very expensive transfer window - shame the defender option failed with so little time to pursue an alternative. (Although didn't Sully say he had 50 options to follow up in January :LMAO: ) (But thats hardly McCleish's fault if Sullky is doing the phonework.) All in all, 3 and a half months in, and yes. Imo we are a much better side. **thumbup |
