Rob Styles.

REF NAMED FOR MAN CITY GAME

Referee Rob Styles will take charge of Saturday's Barclays Premier League game between Blues and Manchester City at St. Andrew's.
Mr Styles is no stranger to Blues, have already taken charge of three of the club's games so far this season.

Unfortunately for Blues they have lost all of those matches.

He was the man-in-the middle for our 2-0 defeat to Middlesbrough at the Riverside last September when he booked four players, including Olivier Kapo, Fabrice Muamba and Mehdi Nafti for Blues.

He also refereed Blues in our 2-1 reverse at Newcastle in December when he cautioned three players, including Nafti and Sebastien Larsson.

And his most recent Blues game was our 1-0 loss against Chelsea in January when Muamba was the only Blues player booked.

Mr Styles will be assisted by Michael Murphy from the West Midlands and Mike Tingey from Buckinghamshire.

Lets hope the Midlands linesman is a Bluenose :banner:

Who the officals are should be of no concern to anyone. All we need to do is win the game within the laws of the game.

Within the laws of the game - it's getting that desperate, I'd take a Maradonna "Hand of God" goal for the winner.

Hey, perhaps a Zarate "Hand of God" goal.

Better than Ridgewell's "Hand of Ball"!

Thats because in those days we never had excessive TV coverage with their incessant analysis of referees.

He also awarded that dubious penalty when mat sadler went in for a tackle.

I cringed when i saw he was taking charge of the game

I cringe when he takes charge of any game. He struggles to gain respect from the players and makes very dodgy decisions. I can see us giving away another penalty in the Man City game. Anyone know what the stats are for penalties conceded in a season? We must be onto a new record...

Conceding a penalty will make a change from conceding a goal from a set piece.

:o Oh, with our central defence we'll concede both.

:applause: Come on Forse, it's time you got another hatrick. :D

His career was effectively over once he was forced to apologise to Liverpool.
