... if we keep losing David Gold will not risk him getting injured so he can't be cashed in. His recovery from 'injury' will not happen until after the last game!

I heard a rumour that Gold had signed for Blackburn so he can come on as sub and score the goal that sends us down.

I also hear David Gold is paying Villa to lose games to our rivals, to ensure we go down so that he can cash in on Larsson and McFadden.

Is this thread any more ridiculous than the 'Official player alert thread'?

I think not.

You can all crucify beegeeboy, but he may have a point. Does anybody think McFadden will be with us next season in the Championship? Not a prayer.

Meanwhile, in the other thread people are talking about Tom Huddlestone, Mohammed Zidane, Jimmy Bullard....sure they'd be up for a Wednesday night game at Swansea in January. If we don't start picking points up, and quickly, that's exactly what we're staring at. We've got a tough run-in, make no mistake.

Maybe beegee was being a little over cynical, but I'm of the opinion he's got his feet on the ground a lot more than many on here.

Maybe beegee was being a little over cynical, but I'm of the opinion he's got his feet on the ground a lot more than many on here.

He's suggesting that:

1 - David Gold has influence over the picking of the first team.

2 - That James McFadden could be persuaded not to play for the first team by said owner, despite having left Everton for the sole purpose of playing first team football. Nice to see the high esteem in which he's held by some, isn't it?

and 3 - That the owners of this football club want the club to get relegated in order to make money.

And he's got his feet on the ground?

Actually frans what he's suggesting is that if, by the time he comes back from injury, we are down then he wouldn't risk him getting injured as it would no doubt slash his value in the transfer market.

Like I said, maybe he was being over cynical, but I don't believe he'll be at Blues next year if we go down. Do you?

As for point 3, where did he say that? He said IF we keep losing (hypothetical).

I questioned why he was getting slaughtered, when other posts / threads are left alone when they are quite patently bizarre to say the least.

Oh well, I'm going back to read the Blues 10-0 Man City thread.

Thank you for your support.

Many a business decision is made on what appears to the uninformed as illogical and what appears to be "stupid" but you have to be aware of the "big picture". With millions of pounds at stake on McFadden's worth and the effect on the clubs finances next season that might be the thought in the boardroom. We all know that money rules the Board.

Given the choice between playing in one or two meaningless post-relegation games to get his "rocks-off" and risk injury peventing him moving back to the Prem for a more lucrative deal (given that he's now proved himself with us) thus perhaps staying with us until January 2009, I don't expect he'll dismiss it out of hand if it was said to him.
