Does anyone else sense we've had some serious enquiries for Seb? For DG to come out with this kind of comment i fear he might be trying to prepare us for "well, i really tried to keep him and i did everything i could" kind of thing.

I still think he'll go unfortunately.

I'm not sure if he is trying to get the ball rolling and start an auction, or whether we have had no serious bids so far.

The third way is that he means what he says.

But I've got to the point now where I just don't believe a single word he or DS say....when it comes to promises that is.

Sebastian Larsson is still hoping to leave Birmingham City despite chairman David Gold's threat that it would be "over his dead body".

The relegated Blues do not want to lose the former Arsenal midfielder, who has emerged as a target for Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United.

Larsson has rejected a new contract offer at St Andrews and would clearly prefer to be playing at Premier League level next season, even though Gold has explained he is vital to manager Alex McLeish's plans.

"Should we Swedes suffer because we don't want to talk ourselves into leaving a club?" agent Per Jonsson complained in Sportbladet.

"It's not fun to hear him [Gold] say that. Why must we Swedes be punished because we are nice and not making a fuss?

"Is it necessary for a player to become an enemy with everyone at a club in order to leave?

"He [Gold] has said things like this before and still sold the player in any case. But the club holds the trump card.

"They have said that they'll extend his deal and give him much better terms but we have said 'no'.

"A lot can still happen. The transfer window is open for another month and a half.

"It depends if a bigger club need a midfielder and how much they invest - maybe then there will be a bid Birmingham cannot say 'no' to.

"I hope that this will be resolved."

I hate agents!! :banghead:

Football would be a much better and more loyal game without the money grabbing buggers. < <

I can't help feeling a little let down by the attitude of the agent towards Seb and i can only assume that what he is saying is led at least in part coming from the player. The attitude seems to be anywhere but Birmingham as long as it's in the premier league. Anyway here's the interview with the agent who appears to be feeling marginalised as a Swede!

His agent seems like a bit of a fiver-finger-shuffler.

...the reality is agents generally only say what their clients are thinking...they are paid to take the flack, so if a deal falls through the player doesn't alienate the fans of his current club...

...if Per Johnsson is saying Larsson wants to leave, its pretty likely Larsson does want to go...otherwise Larsson would sign a new improved deal, or make a public denial, or find another agent...

...from my experience [working in football in the past] players avoid any confrontation with their managers on contractural issues and hide behind their agents...

Gold said: “Seb will leave over my dead body. He’s vital to us.”

Sometime between now and end August, DS will lace DG's cuppa.

We've been linked with a right-sided midfielder from AZ Alkmaar...guess we'll get him in before letting Seb go.

Hi Everyone

Right i have just come across this on Sky, Larrsson's agent is basically moaning about Gold saying Seb wont be sold.

i urge you to read what he has put, what an idiot. I bet he was not bothered when Seb got the Move to Blues so he can get his 5% of the transfer fee and add on bonus's oh yes the agents not only get a percentage of the signing on fee they also get a percentage from the Clubs Sale

So if Seb goes to Newcastle will he be happy, or just happy until another bid comes in and he can line his pockets again

Agents really are the Scurge of Football, all players should go through the PFA and get rid of these leaches, some of his comments and there are only a few are just ridiculous

Loser !!! :redcard:

it makes me laugh to if im honest, if there was ever a interview that shows all agents are only interested in their own gain than this one i for one would like to see it. Really tho if u were Larsson what would u think about it, i mean to me it shows he dont care what move is better for Sebs future just what move is better for his back pocket!

I agree the agents are idiots, but If larsson didnt want to leave wouldnt he tell his agent to shut it!!!! I really dont want to see larsson go but how good is a player that does not want to play for the club.
