I'd say play Larson. Hopefully it was just a bad game. He can show he's still interested. |

Mcleish says Mutch will be starting on the bench and that all things going well Quincy will be making his first debut for us, also tiny is feeling fit again and has recovered from his dead leg, but Kelly, Johnson and Jaidi all remain on the side lines, leading me to think the team will be: .......................Taylor Parnaby.....Taylor....Queudrue....Murphy Larsson ..... Nafti ..... Carsley..... Quincy ............. O'Connor .. Jerome Subs: Mcsheffery, Mutch, Ridgewell, Phillips, Bent. Mcfadden, Doyle With probably Larsson and Quincy making way for Mcsheffery and Mutch at some stage depending on performances |

Mutch WILL be on the bench. Quincy may well start/be a sub depending on international (Friendly next week which McLeish is trying to get him withdrawn from) Phillips, Larsson, Fadders probably rested. O'Connor should be given a game alongisde Jerome with McSheffery on the right? |

And they didn't need to play Bruce's hoofball to win: Match summary The first leg took place on 23 May 1963 at Birmingham's home ground, St Andrews. Birmingham took the lead when Harris fed Auld who crossed for Ken Leek's powerful shot, but Aston Villa equalised via Bobby Thomson. Seven minutes into the second half, the same combination of players made it 2–1, and after 66 minutes Jimmy Bloomfield met a Harris cross to score off the post to give Birmingham a 3–1 lead.[1] The second leg four days later at Villa Park was goalless. With former England centre half Trevor Smith marking Thomson out of the game[2] and Birmingham's defensive tactics including regularly kicking the ball out for throw-ins,[3] Aston Villa were unable to break their opponents down. |

Starting 18 announced for the blues: Maik Taylor, Doyle, Parnaby, Martin Taylor, Ridgewell, Queudrue, Murphy, Larsson, McSheffrey, Carsley, Nafti, Quincy, Jerome, O'Connor, McFadden, Phillips, Bent, Mutch Mcleish says hes going to feature a strong squad in order to continue our good run which we have already started, looks like we are going to see a relatively similar squad to last time, but i would hope with Jerome and O'Connor starting, and mutch and qunicy coming on later as subs |

From that, I'd go with: Taylor Parnaby Taylor/Queudrue if Taylor not fit Ridgewell Murphy Larsson Carsley Nafti Jerome O'Connor Quincy Give Quincy an hour or so to see how his fitness is, and to see how the side copes with a 4-3-3 formation. All things going well, Quincy can be withdrawn for one of the strikers or McSheffrey, Larsson can be protected and Mutch given a run out. Looking forward to it, which is ominous. |
