OK, took a bit of time after returning from the match to write this. Had a few conflicting thoughts during the game but after reflecting with a beer at home and watching the recorded match on Sky I am more than pleased. We won. there were a few negatives but I think AM already has these in hand. Mcsheffrey - tries hard but cant quite recapture the form of a couple of years ago - AM already signed QOA Midfield - solid but lacking creativity - AM already signed Augustine Goal scoring - good play today but never looked like scoring - AM plays Bent to push the defence back then brings on the championships best in penalty box poacher Game drifting towards a draw - AM has the strongest attacking bench imaginable at our level (what other team could afford to leave Phillips, Jerome and O'connor as subs) Defence - Taylor & Ridge did well today, Jaidi injured so we are a bit light - AM on the radio talking about possiility of one or two moves and centre defence is main area - also Gold admitting mistakes over not signing Cahill - got to think its AM who has put this in his mind Believe it people - we are going somewhere with this manager So, am I wrong? - would love to here reasoned arguments against why we wont go up! |

I dont think anyone could be blamed for not signing Cahill.... at the end of the day, we offered him more money and the chance not to move home, but he wanted to go to Bolton, so there was nothing we could of done. Oh well, im glad we didn sign him, as it ment we kept "tiny" :Blues: :Blues: :Blues: |

Sheffield United come to us today, and had one thought, and that was to restrict our football and play for a point. They cranked it up a notch towards the end of the game as they thought they could steal it and get a bonus, but im sure Blackwell, and their fans were sure they had a point at least but thats football for you. They'll be a match this season where we'll be punished by a late goal like Sheffield United were today |
