At home I think Nafti and Carsley shouldn't play together. Its too defensive to play at home and at home you need to be attacking to win the game. Away from home I think them two would be perfect. At home im not too sure. Whats your thoughts? |

Id stick with them until we see what this Agustien player is like at least. I thought they worked quite well on Saturday |

Yes i agree, however we didnt have one shot on target until the goal. Which shows the lack of service/creativity in midfield. Don't get me wrong their both good players and they played well. But attacking enough to play at home, i dont think so. |

The problem wasnt the lack of creativity in midfield, but the fact we didnt have no width in the midfield as has been mentioned on here previously. Last season, our main threats on goal came from Larsson and Kapo down the wings, and not from Nafti/Muamba in the middle of the park. We need to stick with that and get our wide men into the game more and create some chances, Bent looks awesome in the air, so a few good crosses in and Id expect him to get his head on them. |

Bent to me looked abit lethargic to be honest. However I do agree, but im sure blues would play alot better with a central midfielder that was attacking and could play a good through ball for players like Phillips or McFadden to run onto to. Which no player at the moment can seem to provide. |

That tactic is only going to work against sides that push up the pitch in order to squeeze the play. Sheffield United didn't do that, they were content to hold a deep line and make sure there wasn't a gap behind the defence for such passes to be threaded into. There will be games in which a more adventurous midfield will work well, and games in which we will be better off playing a more dependable and solid central unit. McLeish will be best off picking a team to suit the conditions and opponents of the day. |

lethargic? The phrase used by my wigwam mates was lazy. |

Sheffield United came and played to stop us getting the ball down the wings to cross into the box. They forced us to play narrow and it almost worked. Our goal cam from the only place it could have done on Saturday- a long ball over the top flicked on to the striker. All credit to Phillips for putting it away. Utd came, stopped our main threat and played for the point. Always a gamble but it almost worked. ALMOST!! LOL There will be other games when our wingers are flying and we will need to have the defensive 2 in the middle to make life difficult for the opposition on the counter. I though we looked comfortable throughout on Saturday and never really looked threatened. The opposition do have a lot to say about how we play. We can't always have it all our own way. |

I wouldn't say Bent was lazy, he just looked a yard off the pace. He'll get up to speed soon enough and he'll contribute a fair chunk to the squad I'm sure. Just needs a bit of time is all. |

Bent looked fantastic when we played at the JJB last season. He seemed to be moving forwards at will and threatened every time he got the ball. Then again, we would have made Frank Spencer on 1 leg look good that day!! LOL Bent will be good for us. We've had 1 league game where the opposition's only aim was to stop us playing. You can't really judge players on that 1 game. |

well if that turns out to be the case its not really a huge problem... after all how many other strikers do we have again... =P if he doesn't play well after a few games then he will be replaced with Jerome, Phillips or O'Connor... i think he played pretty well for his debut, think he should do quite well this season |
