Heard a rumour we are in talks with recently released West Ham midfielder Fredrik Ljungberg, personally i think its a good move, even though yes he is getting on abit, but just to sign for a year or two to get us out the championship would be great, could go on the right instead of Larsson, with Larssons free to move into the centre as a creative midfielder, or the other way around... views?

Would be a great addition if he's on a free .....he'd hopefully have to accept a pay cut though

But my only concern is that he is very injury prone

too old. Carry on like this and we'll be rebuilding the whole team next season if we get to the Premiership!

I really wonder where these "rumours" start!

No way would we be able to afford Ljungberg's wages, nor would we pay them to an injury prone player whos the shadow of his former self, as he shown when he played last season for West Ham.

He's off to Italy apparently so I wouldnt think anymore about him joining Blues.

If we couldnt afford Bobo Balde, we cant afford Ljungberg

He's only 31

Younger than Bent,Carsley and Phillips

But Sky do suggest it could be Italy or the States

Why do you think the club is planning on two years to get out of the CCC?

Perhaps you would like to reveal your source to establish the strength of this rumour. Otherwise its a waste of time even starting a thread like this. Anone can start a rumour...usually happens in the pub at 11pm.

Why would he be interested in signing for us? He would have much better offers.

i disagree with this, by the looks of things Mcleish will be introducing our youngsters slowly this season in preperation for the prem next season, and buying players with 2 seasons in them in order to keep us up next season so we can attract players of higher calibre. He's kept the spending to a minimum in order to have more funds when we are in the prem :)

he has just been given 5 million to end his contract early

a 31 yr old player who has done it all and is a multi millionaire and has had severe injury problems the last 3 years

why dont we ask mike newell to come out of retirement whilst we are at it

my god if he aint motivated to play for west ham then what chance in hell have we got him being motivated for us i nthe championship

i wouldnt sign him anyway as he would want 40k a week minimum

Bad move. Too old , no future. Larsson and McFaden have more skill to offer and are of the right age.

Only clubs with poor vision stock up with oldies.
