He is like a new player, fit, slim, winning every flick on…. With the right partner he could do very well this season! I think he needs someone with speed though… not sure him and Phillips were on the same page last night?

I think he did enough last night to get him self a start on Saturday? What do people think?

Certainly thought he done enough to merit a start, never stopped running all night right to the final whistle. All his performance lacked was a goal, which wasn't for the want of trying. It seems the pressure on the strikers this year could already be bearing fruit.

Motm without a doubt for me last night :applause:

**thumbup Jassy, somewhere on here i've given him the same praises for last night.

I,d like to see him up front with Jerome. With McFadden, Larsson, Nafti and Carsley in midfield. God knows what I'd do when Quincy is fully match fit, and the other guy we signed (forgot his name :banghead: )

I think people make too many threads about Garry O'Connor, and they usually spell his name wrong.

Different player from last season. He looks quicker and fitter, which I think has really helped his game. Definitely up for a start come Saturday.

On the match thread last night I was full of praise for him, as I was after the Sheff Utd game on saturday, he had a great pre-season and a lot of people said it was just a fad, I'm really pleased for the lad and last night he fully deserved the MOTM from sky.

It's only a shame that its taken all this time for him to show people what he can do, roll on 12 months time when he has another crack at the premier and he really shows how good a player he is....

Oh yes, Philips was always in my equation mainly as a substitute purely because if he started every game we wouldn't see anything of him after christmas.

He's certainly better than last season, but I'd still rank him last in the pecking order.
