Buy why ONLY 3 months ?? ....the season runs through May.....not December 7th

Strange

Its an emergency loan window, so the maximum any club can loan a player for is 3 months. Could do this with a view to loaning/buying in january for the remainder of the season

Need clarification on that

According to other posters on here loans can be done between today (Sep 8th) and November 8th

We are only allowed 2 loans from European clubs......We already have Quincy and Agustien but we are allowed up to 3 more from PL clubs or League One or League 2 clubs the entire season....You are only allowed to play or rather name 5 loanees in any match day sqaud was another comment I read on here

I am only guessing we cannot loan players from other Championship but again I might be wrong on that as there was talk about going after Ben Watson of Palace once more

This loan businees is very confusing but I just cannot fathom out why we can get Boateng just until early December when we really need him until early May

This is the only real info I can find on the loan system but I know there is more to it

"" Clubs from the Football League Championship to the Football Conference can loan in players from 8 September to 23 November and also from 8 February until 23 March ""

Prince Boateng - wasn't that a song by Adam and the Ants?

My Cousin Kevin - The Undertones I think Lowdham. What we need is that retired self appointed thread policeman from silly game :D

What a Charming response.

Yes.....that is what it meant

I still cannot understand therefore why we are only loaning PB for 3 months.....it is NOT an emergency loan as someone else suggested is it ??

Still doesn't make much sense ....Surely we would need the guy till at least January where we could even sign him permanently when the TW re-opens on Jan 1st

I hope we do get K-P Boateng and maybe a cheeky bid for Jamie O'Hara aswell, both properly won't get any first-team action unless some major injuries happen.

Are you kidding ?

Boateng would surely start in the midfield if he does come

Agustien seems like he might need some time to adjust to the Championship

They are emergency loans though, whether you like it or not. The transfer window has closed but the FA decided this was unfair for 'smaller' clubs so decided that they would allow players to move to lower league clubs as an 'emergency' when the window is closed. This is why you can't bring players from across the border, as it is our FA's policy. They had to impose the 3 month deadline due to FIFA regulations (otherwise it would be like the transfer window didn't exist).

Birmingham will sign Tottenham midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng on a three-month loan deal on Monday. (Daily Mail)

from todays gossip column

If its correct that you can only loan for 90 days then if he was to sign today his last game would be Watford at Home on the 6th December, if he was to sign on wednesday he would also be eligable to play against Plymouth on 9th December so if it is all done and dusted then it would be better to delay the registration of the player until wednesday and get an extra game out of it! (God I have too much time on my hands!)

Of course if it is for more then 90 days then ignore the above! :P

even if we do sign him on loan, i'm guessing spurs will want 3/4/5 million for him.

does anyone see the board spending that kind of money considering they backed out of deals for watson and others as soon as money was involved.

while it would be an excellent loan deal i just can't see us signing him perminantly unless spurs are incredibly desperate to get rid of him and no-one else in the whole of europe is interested in a promising young center-mid who has a very good reputation in germany.

I thought loan signings had to wait until 7 days after the close of the transfer window. If so tomorrow (tue) is the earliest. Might be wrong though?????
