Youve read that wrong. Boaten thought it would but it wouldn't. Mind you by him thinking that he probably doesn't really want to come here.

whats happening with this transfer?? its dragged for ages is he actually going to sign?

"no"

i think if it was going to happen it would have happened by now. he obviously isn't that interested and from what i've read on here AMc is only interested in players 100% commited.

I can't believe how long this deal is taking - lets not bother as there's obviously issues and risk involved...just keep our money and move on.

Begs the question how long does it take to run the rule over somebody. This was mentioned during the transfer window and if I read one more time that Alex wants to look him in the eye, I most likely will poke mine out in frustration!!

Alex is absolutely right with his due diligence particularly when there doesn't appear to be a queue for Boateng despite our interest!

It seems that Spurs have had a surplus of misfits over recent years and we've been interested in most of them. The last thing that we want is someone coming into the Dressing Room who will be disruptive and without committment! "no"

I agree entirely. He has a reputation for being a disruptive influence and with our squad seeming to gel so well with each other, we don't want anybody who could upset the apple-cart. My gut feeling is that signing him, even on loan, could be a very big mistake.

Agree with both you and Bluebird, but I will ask the question again, how long does it take to look someone in the eye and decide whether or not they are up for a Championship battle????

This same comment and story has been reused again and again over the last few weeks. I would suggest if a meeting between KPB and AMc has not been arranged yet one of the parties ain't interested and from his reputation I would suggest it is KPB.

Leave alone and use the money for someone else, this is what happens when the Board make AMc embarass himself dealing with other clubs throw offs because we can sign them on a free...but hey when have the Board ever worried about damaging the image of BCFC!

Some good news on the situation finally!

"The powers that be at both clubs have agreed on the deal to bring the 21-year-old to St. Andrew's."

So hes going to be on his way to us so long as hes willing to play for us, just waiting for Mcleish to speak to him

Good news i would think

Colin Tattum's assessment of the situation today is that McLeish has had enough of waiting for KPB to actually come and speak to him. If the guy is in Germany then he is probably there angling to get a deal sorted for January with one of the German clubs - I say leave well alone.

We will have to make do with Quashie until Jan I reckon.

ALEX McLeish is no further forward with the loan of Kevin-Prince Boateng.

And the Blues boss appears to be running out of patience with the Spurs midfielder.

“I was hoping I would have met with him this week but he’s been in Germany and I’m waiting to hear the next step,” he said.

“But if he’s humming and haaing about it then we’ll just leave it.”

“There’s a deal there to be done,” McLeish continued. “If I gave it the green light then we could do it.

“But I need to look the player in the face and see if he wants to come and resurrect his career, because we can help him.

I say drop the intrest and move on. If he wanted to play for us he would have been at the club by now with his agent to speak with AMc. It's not that Germany is the other side of the world now is it? He could have just jumped on a flight. I see the biggest problem if he does come is fitness. Hasn't played for months. Quashie is struggling with his fitness also.

He's played in a few reserve matches this season

I'm with coorslight here - he obviously isn't interested in Blues. If we pursue him, he might eventually come here, thinking he is some kind of prima donna, expecting top dollar. Regardless of the fact that I'm sure AM could help him to become a better player, I would have my doubts about his ability to raise his game for a game on a cold tuesday night in february away to Doncaster or Barnsley (no offense to Doncaster ;) )

Let's forget him & carry on as we are doing now - winning. Come January, when we are 10 points clear at the top, we can start looking to bring in some more talent in order to bed them into the team before we get to the prem, as opposed to thinking we can change 70% of this years team & still "hit the ground running" next season. :banner:

who can blame a player who considers his options these days, especially when they are expected to honour any contracts?

He is a good attacking central midfielder who is worth chasing and waiting for.

not sure if you are being sarcastic or not here, how many players or managers ACTUALLY honour their contracts these days? very few is the answer all the power lies with the players if they decide they dont want to be at a club their agent will move heaven and earth to get them a new club regardless of contract.

MCLEISH: NO BOATENG DEAL

Alex McLeish has drawn a line under his attempts to sign Spurs midfielder Kevin Prince-Boateng on loan.

The Blues boss has been pursuing the German under-21 international for several weeks in an attempt to bolster his midfield.

But despite the two clubs coming to an agreement, McLeish has been unable to meet Boateng face to face and has now decided to pursue other targets.

"He's (Boateng) disappeared off the radar," said McLeish.

"He's still in Germany as far as we understand.

"We haven't heard anything else from Spurs, Boateng or his agent.

"We've got to move on because we can't wait for ever.

"But until I hear something we're going to pursue the guys were looking at the moment."

Ah well. Well done to Blues for identifying him as a target. But he's obviously not a hungry footballer.

Shame, but I'm glad we're looking at other options now rather than ooing and aahing about one player.

Can't see it being Appiah though, you'd think he'd be numero uno in options :P
