The chant was brilliant. I was there in the Tilton and sounded really good. Once it started in the tilton it even started to spread round to the Kop. How amazingly intimidating would it be if the whole of st andys sang that chant. :o now that would make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. Well done the tilton |

I was in the back of the Tilton and could help but laugh, the lads singing the tune kept it in good time throughout most of the game until the whole stand started to join in, as soon as that happened, like most songs, it sped up into a clappy singy mess and fell apart  That said, it gave me something to concentrate on trying to remember what the song was, and distracted me from the dross game. |

In fairness arent all UB40 tunes built around the same sort of base?...would explain the reason most people thought it were UB40 but different tracks. |

It may be a stupid question, but why is this being chanted? The Food for thought tune? |

Maybe our football is food for thought or maybe just maybe because its catchy and more importantly its original in terms of football. **thumbup |

Correct, but not all (inlcuding me) will have access to the internet with sound... and when your trying to distinguish the likeliness of a chant to a song... having sound will help **thumbup ps: you could be on wap / wireless through a mobile phone :ph43r: |

We picked this up in blk 19 (Rows 37 and 38) and one of us started singing Oooooooo, we're the Birmingham Bluuueees. Oooooooo, we're the Birmingham Bluuueees, Blues Blues Blues, Oooooooo, we're the Birmingham Bluuueees, Oooooooo, we're the Birmingham Bluuueees, and continue... ps Oooooo is pronounced so it sounds like the ou in you! it seemed to fit at the time so others soon started picking up on it and joined in. I've no idea what the original words were (our version not the UB's) but I can confirm it is the sax intro from Food for thought by Birmingham's own UB40. (1 in 10 is similar but has a few extra notes) Thanks to big John from Leicester for those wonderfully simple but inspirational words. :drink: First new original song at St Andrews for a long while. :drink: |
