according to the Daily Star/BBC Sport we are set to battle it out with Chelsea, now that Arsenal have cooled there interest!!

all seems a little far fetched one way or the other?

Quote:

Carlos Luciano da Silva, nicknamed Mineiro (born on 2 August 1975, in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul) is a Brazilian footballer.

Mineiro scored a famous goal against Liverpool in the final of the 2005 FIFA Club World Championship in Yokohama, Japan, which eventually decided the title in favour São Paulo.

He won the Campeonato Paulista in 2004 and 2005, playing for São Caetano and São Paulo, respectively, and also won, playing for São Paulo, the Copa Libertadores de América and the FIFA Club World Championship in 2005.

Mineiro was a late call-up for Brazil's 2006 World Cup squad. A knee injury sustained by Barcelona midfielder Edmílson in the run-up to the tournament forced him to withdraw, resulting in a call-up for Mineiro, but he did not receive any playing time in Germany.

On 3 February 2007, he had his Bundesliga debut for Hertha in a game against Hamburger SV.[1] He was brought on for the last 20 minutes and scored his first goal for Berlin, a spectacular game-winning goal (2:1), shooting from more than 25 yards, in the last seconds of injury time.

He played for Brazil in Copa América 2007.

33 year old DEFENSIVE midfielder.

I'd rather we got K-P Boateng.

if he's a defensive mid then i have to agree, although i'm kinda hoping we'll KPB either way. provided his heart is in the battle for promotion

Both would do me. An International Brazillian footballer playing for Brum... You don't come by them very often.

Arsenal and Chelsea are after him as well supposedly  Never thought we'd be in a battle with those two to sign a player.

I wouldn't call it a battle, more a friendly bout of fisticuffs.

We've got way more financial clout, we should bag him easy.

He would be a fine addition to the squad. Bags of experience, plenty of ability, and the nous to pick a pass. If he could adapt to the different pace of the Championship then I'm sure he'd do well.

Why would Jose Mineiro go back to Chelsea?

To get to the other side..?

OR because Moratti doesn't hold him the same way that Abromovich does.

My sentiments exactly

Probably a language thing

Big Phil speaks Portugese .........Alex speaks with a Glasgae twang ....if you were from Brazil who would you choose ??

And please don't answer Santos, Flamengo, Palmeiras or Vasco Da Gama....that don't count...... :copno:

:LMAO: :LMAO:
