Just listening to BRMB and Tom Ross has spoken to the board about the clock and their response was that they are annoyed about the size of it and are sorting it out.
:)

So those that said the board were scrimping on it were obviously wrong and it was the company who made it who cocked up (not that I am a fan of the board at all)

If you were purchasing an item for your home, such as piece of furniture, would you not make sure it fits first?

Why would the owners of a pro football club order a comemorative clock for an ex player and not know how big or small it is?

Ridiculous if you ask me.....I don't believe a word that comes out of their cockney mouths.

IMO, the only reason that they have said this is because they have recieved letters of complain about how small and cheap the clock looks, this is nothing but an excuse to save their a***s....

Yet ANOTHER bit of evidence of the boards penny pinching ways!

So they get a clock made, people whine.

They change the clock, people keep whining.

Or maybe they themselves saw that its not what they wanted, The actual clock face is the same size as the previous clock which was mounted on top of the old scoreboard . i am not sure its about the cost i think that its more of an error in judgement by the people or person responsible for ordering it and deciding to locate it in such a lofty position, which does not help.

So your telling me the board didn't know the size when they ordered it? they just shelled out a few grand and not looked at the spec? load of bull mate they knew.

I doubt the members of the board knew how small it was.

Its not their job to order stuff. Someone below KB at the club probably messed up.

Rubbish, they knew all along

Scenario One,

Hi Karren how much does it cost? Hells teeth - that's expensive. It's not too big is it? What size is it?

Scenario Two,

Hi Karren how much does it cost? Hells teeth - that's sounds cheap. It's not too small is it? What size is it?

Scenario Three,

Hi Karren how much does it cost? That's reasonable. Are we sure they've quoted right? What size is it?

No excuse for not knowing.

Not hiring the right people then are they? and KB would have known about it, she oversees financial things at the club.

'overseeing financial things' does not mean she deals with anything and everything involving financial transactions...does she also over see how much and what toilet paper is bought or what stationary is bought...there are financial transactions involved there...

The same people who sold a stake in the club without finding out whether the buyer could afford it beforehand

Nice idea , badly executed , very embarrassing.

I have a better idea

We should find a more befitting tribute to a great BCFC legend such as Jeff Hall like a REAL large and working electronic scoreboard or even name the Railway End 'The Jeff Hall Stand' which would be a great show of paying respect to Jeff

As far as clocks go, hang this on every entrance into St Andrews instead and even hang one in the Home dressing room

Then watch McSheffrey and Ridgewell play blinders in every game

Boy ! I'm in a positive mood today

First time for me too, waste of money! totally agree about renaming stands by the way, we could have the jeff hall stand fair enough but we could also rename the old main stand the "men only stand" as I am reliablly informed that the ladies loos are so bad thats its like going to the loo in the black hole of calcutta, mind you the mens are little better.

That would be painting themselves into a corner because they would be criticised if they renamed after a sponsor.

I think the clock looks good considering it's intended purpose. If you can afford a match ticket, then you can afford to buy yourself a watch!
