I live in the states but reading reports and listening to commentary, it seems we have been outplayed in almost every game - is this a fair reflection? If so, it's definitiely worrying given the sqaud we have on paper... feed.back |

I live in Birmingham and have seen most games. I say "yes, this result has been coming". Many of our victories have been very unconvincing. We are still not playing anywhere near the standard required to win promotion. It doesn't matter how many strikers" AM signs, he still doesn't seem able to get the team to play well. Midfield is woefully lacking in creativity, and the defence is still lacking one good CB. Probably since the beginning of two seasons ago. I fear that play offs is the best we can hope for, and would be strongly fancied to do well in them? |

We might have been unconvincing but we've been winning and drawing and thats all I ask. Today we were very very poor, no two ways about that but I refuse to go into meltdown. We have lost 1 game in 7, we are second in the league, we've just had our best league start in 17 years. I don't reaslly feel like we are in the midst of a crisis personally. If we have been winning and have only been playing at 60% of our best then it'll be great when we are at our optimum. |

Would we have taken 5 wins a draw and a loss from the first 7 games? Definatly. |

How do you guys listen - Blues World? I'm in Canada and unable to get any audio feeds - BBC and BRMB block online streams - it was far better 5 + years ago! Anyway I agree with your assessment of the team so far. I said earlier, why is it that all these supposedly marvellous players Blues have do not live up to their potential? So far this season Blues have been hopeless and most definitely not a Prem team! Perhaps played reasonably well at Bristol but is one good game in 7 acceptable? We need quality AND variety to allow for different opposition styles and tactics. Does McL have it himself? So far from both last season and this I think not! Perhaps these "players" should only be paid on a performance basis and then we might actually get real effort! |

I feel sorry for Doncaster, because they (IMO) were better then Blackpool & went away with nothing. But this has been waiting to happen, I just hope that Cardiff City get the sharp end of a team thats been brought down to earth this afternoon. A team that now realise that a return to the premiership is not 'cut & dried'. |

Yes it has, but I have it on good authority from certain board members, that: 1. You can't win them all 2. It's just a blip 3. We'd of been happy with this posistion/points before the start of the season. 4. We'll now go on and win five out of the next seven. 5. AMc has got them playing far better football than SB ever did 6. We'd of trounced them with Nafti in the side. 7. We'd of won if we'd not played 3-5-1.......even though we cut Bristol to shreds with the same side 8. The team is still Gelling. .....and the glass is half full, so you need to look on the bright side! |

Nobody said were in crisis or were in meltdown, we have been poor all season with exception of Tuesday at Bristol (first half only) you might be happy with pish poor football but i expect and want a bit more than that, other teams in this league are playing decent football and winning why aren't/can't we? After all loads on here keep saying how good our squad is, so why aren't we playing well? aim your sights a bit higher and you never know the players might pick up on it and try a bit more, because a couple of those players shouldn't be in the squad never mind the team. |

Maybe not then but there is a lot of flapping going on. I am not happy with below par performances but i'm a realist and realistically if we are winning and drawing and are second in the league then I can't see where the pessimism is coming from. Yesterday we were dreadful, I don't l know why and I was angry when I left the ground but in the wider picture I feel like we are doing ok. I want us to win this league and I believe we are good enough to do it. What I don't beleive is that it will be easy. We will always have bad days, we will loose games. As long as yesterday is a one off I believe we will still be fine. Also with the exception of Wolves all these teams that are playing nice football must be below us in the league so I don't know how much good its doing them... |

It is very early days - very early. But there are eery echoes of our last season in this division when we won lots of games while playing rubbish and lots of false dawns when we 'finally' played to our potential. Ah, crisis over we thought, and confidently predicted we would win the next 9 on the trot, given the state of the opposition. Instead, of course, we played rubbish again, but perhaps won. At the end of the season people forgave or forgot Bruce's performance and insisted it was difficult getting out of this division and he should get god status simply because of the promotion - forget the flaws. The players are slightly different from then, but the performances are the same. Spooky, eh. where's that gypsy. |

no shape no pattern no pace no energy no creativity we failed to bring our flair players into the game what a damning statement....... 11 men back for defensive set pieces saturday was a step back in the time tunnel we will still be promoted the blues way,and thats all that matters right, but it could and should be so different :banghead: |
