....of the dressing room to do his post-match interview, he'd look silly if he didn't.

Can he take McSheffrey with him.
And leave him somewhere.
Somewhere he cant find his way back from.
Please?

tactically he made such a mess of things today. he shudda assumed they would sit back and gone 4-3-3. at the end of the game i think it was 3-2-4

His formation was shambolic. I can appreciate that he thought Blackpool might come and play one up front and attempt to shut down the middle of the pitch, but within five minutes it was clear they were playing two up front, and yet it took until Phillips came on for us to go 4-4-2. Jerome and Bent both won a fair number of headers when the ball was punted long, but there was not a soul within thirty yards of them to make their efforts worthwhile. McFadden was clearly unhappy out on the right wing, Agustien looked out of sorts when he was shunted out there and Jerome and Kelly had no understanding at all.

Why on earth was it that the only part of the team from last season that worked well, the partnership down the right hand side of Kelly and Larsson, was never put into practice today? We have one of the best right wingers outside of the top six or seven sides in the country and he wasn't among the four players in the side that actually played on the right wing.

It was an incredibly puzzling afternoon of decisions from the manager.

no-one is perfect, i agree his decision was not the best, i think the problem is we worked well with a packed midfield mid week away from home but at home we should have put them under the cosh from the first which we didnt

Hopefully alex will put this one down as experiance and move on...

I see why McLeish went for the debated 4-3-3/4-5-1 formation as it did work well for us away at Bristol so surely it should work for us at home to Blackpool?

I wouldnt have done it at home, just left it for away games, making us tougher to break down, and useful on the counter.

At home, we need a more direct formation, with 2 strikers at least as the majority of teams come here to shut up shop and defend and we have to break them down. As proven today, Blackpool would have been fine with a point today, but our poorness spurred them on and they sensed an early goal in the second half could be enough for them to hold on to as we werent threatening them one bit.

alex should be wise enough to know that a formation that works away will prob not work at home because away from home, unless your united, bottom or chealsea (who always attack) away from home you dont attact, attack, attach

But he did change the formation at half time when he bought Bent on alobngside McFadden, so he knew it hadn't worked.

Perhaps he should of listened to the radio as Grayson said on Friday "We are going with two up front in attempt to play good football"
