Oh god not another one! Face it, Mauro Zarate will not rejoin us anytime soon... he's moved on, he's settled at Lazio and everyone there loves him... he cost them £20m+ and they will want more than that back for him, and we wont pay it... and even if we did, we'd have to pay his big wages, and then still I dont think hed want to come back. Move on like he has. |

Thanks for the links **thumbup wait for Arsenal to do all the groundwork, then match there offer at the last minute, it would be great to get him back here although unrealistic. |

Arsenal wont pay the money needed to bring Zarate in. Wenger prefers to spend cheaper on young talent and develop them... Arshavin and Nasri are probably the only two of recent times to command a fee above £10m, costing £12m and £13m respectively. Other members of the squad cost : Almunia - £2.6m Sagna - £7.75m Clichy - £250k Gallas - Part Exchange Vermaelen - £9.5m Arshavin - £12m Fabregas - Nominal fee Diaby - £2.5m Van Persie - £2.8m Eduardo - £7.5m So cant see Wenger going out spending £25m-£30m on Zarate, when they're scoring for fun anyway, and dont have that money anyway. |

As soon as I read this I thought 'lazy journalism' straight away ... I cant see Wenger spending more then 10/11 mil on a striker, n the only reason he will get one is if Bendtner and Van Persie are still gonna be out for ages |

Would love to have him back but we couldn't afford him back in the day when we'd have had to pay 20 mill for him, now hes more well known, the price is gonna be stupid! |

£35M is a lot and i dont think Arsenal would pay that for Messi let alone anyone else. They could get a Dzeko for £20M instead or try for Villa for £30M instead. Good player would suit Arsenal style of play. If he was £15M then i would beleave Arsenal would pay that, but i would like to think if he cost that much why we would not go for him. But then would he come again? But £35M i cant see anyone but Man City taking that punt on Zarate. |

True... what Arsenal need is very similar to what we need. A focal point upfront, someone who is strong and powerful, decent in the air, and who can bully opposition defenders, to create space for the nippier, smaller stars like Walcott, Arshavin, Nasri, Fabregas etc. Adebayor done this job for them, but whilst having a poor second season, they never really replaced him properly. |

This would be great news, He will never ever sign for us. Mcleish never used him to his full potential when he was here and he should now be able to find better clubs than us. It's great news because i want to see his quality in the premiership... Imagine the football being played in the Arsenal team with him in it! Just noticed that looks like i'm having a go at Mcleish, I'm not. |

i did say zarate was and is good enough for any team in the prem, including man u, chelsea, arsenal. I hope he does come back to the premiership, he has the potential to be one of the best players in the world. Just annoys me that Mcleish didnt start him more than what he did!!! But then again he has got us to 8th in the league!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Am I the only one that would like to see Zarate back in the prem? So it's not with us but at least we had him for a short while and at times saw the quality the lad has. If he goes to the Arsenal then fine by me always thought he was good enough and it would be great to see him in their side with the way they play football. This is as a football fan not just a Blues fan. |

he is such a class player... its a shame we never stayed up and maybe had the chance to loan him again? we were never going to sign him on a perm deal... but we could wish |

I think Mcleish saw Zarate as more of an impact player due to where we were in the league at the time, I am sure that if we had Zarate or a Zarate type player now then he would be used much more. Is Zarate playing regular for his team ? maybe we could put in a cheeky loan bid :) |
