I'd like him, can play on either wing or up front, he's quick, capable of producing something different... His form at Liverpool has been inconsistent but then he's never really had a run in the team...

No chance sorry but for Holland he was not much better than De Ridder in the U21 championships.

Good player and better than De Ridder though in the Prem but £11M nope, £8M yes.

I would rather go for N'Zogbia for £8M

Maybe if they let us have Ngog and Babel for £11M as McLeish could do with a someone to clean players boots etc after his anfield antics **thumbup

Jonathan de Guzman is a better young Holland player as good as Babel on the wings and can play in centre like Anderson, contract up in summer so £5-6M should do

Young, pacey, 6ft tall, direct, skillfull, and can play upfront or on either wing ... all attributes we are crying out for. He's definitely worth a gamble, but I'd be cautious over spending the full £11m on him. Myabe something like £7m upfront with a further £4m based on success and appearances.

I'd have him, simply because we'll need a rapper in the squad for our FA Cup final song.

That would work as a deal actually, like i say i would like the player here, but some sort of decent deal would have to be though up, also his wages must be rather large

Some of his performances for Holland have been excellent. He has the attributes we need to be looking for - pace and skill. But the price seems excessive.

Think due to his time in Prem his price should reduce, afterall you can overpay for potential!

An earlier poster said he would rather pay 8m for N`Zogbia, I think that is a fair point when you look at the stats for the two players, N`Zogbia is already proven, people still talk about Babel in terms of potential!!

Rafa has been playing him out of position on the left,he is a striker. Plus he has no left foot so it's leading to frustration Alex could make something of him..

Its a case of Liverpool being skint and trying to make as much on him so they have more to spend.

I say £8M plus £500K per season depending on performances and apperances much like the addons for Ferguson.

Cant see fans taking to him here though, he's a very inconsistent and frustrating player... he'll end up being like Jesper Gronkjaer.

Depends on the price for him at the end of the day.

Babel is just one of those players who needs a run of games to hit any kind of form, when they start to only get games here and there and off the bench then sadly like a Kapo, Quincy or Bouazza they are just not effective.

Babel does prefer to play up front but he is more a Striker and Winger than McFadden, who i feel is best used more central in a freerole, but how can we build a side around him.

N'Zogbia i feel is a player who even not starting each week wont effect his form, like Jerome he can miss games but still have same form/commitment when he gets games. Babel is like a Bent in that he needs a good run of games to get into any kind of form.

Bent is not good enough to warrent a run of games, but Babel could be.

Seems McGeady has gone quiet and £9M and £40-50K week wage demands would he only be another McFadden?

He's also one that Blues fans wont take too... look at people slating McFadden this season... Babel is similar

Your right Babel does not get stuck in much.

I think his crosses and the way he attacks the box will be of more benefit than McFadden.

I think McFadden would be better on the right where he has more cover behind him.

My only problem with McFadden is he tries to be clever like Ronaldo and he moans to much like Rooney.

I agree. He has not really been a regular for Liverpool and the reported £11m is far too much IMO. N'Zogbia for £8m is on the high side but I would go for him. At a lesser club like Wigan he looks a very good player.

Really not sure about Babel. This would be an awful lot of money for a player who has been at best hit and miss as I see it.

Let your heart beat strong and all that. :banner:

He didn't look at all useful in the game on sky v Villa tonight. More like £1 million than £11 on tonights evidence.

He was nowhere near 11 million on tonight's performance. I think Aquilani is vastly overpriced as well.

seems we have been looking at babel as well!!

What would people think of getting him?

Personally I think he is potentially a class player, I would like us to get him on loan first though...I think he is a player who needs games regular to show his worth.

IF would could persuade Babel to come to Brum, then yes please.

I doubt we would see the best of him this season thanks to Rafa's miss manangement of the lad, but bring him in now and work on him with whats left of the season.

Come August i believe we could have a real top class striker on our hands. IMO :Blues:

Absolutely yes for me, miss-used, under-rated by Liverpool fans and boss, given first team football with his fast pace and trickery would be an excellent buy.

I think we could get him for about £8m with Liverpool's financial trouble.

Hmm ... jury's out on Babel. He's not taken his chances when he's had them at Liverpool - and he's had plenty - and doesn't look Premiership quality. £5m tops, but not sure that'd still be worth a punt, though fair point about Mr Benitez' potential miss management of Babel ... and the vast majority of other Liverpool players.
