Babel didnt look good tonight so suddenly hes not good enough for us?

Thats what having the useless Benitez as your manager and never getting regular games does to a player.

Aww poor Benitez, he is getting mauled by the commentator in his interview and he can't come out with any good answers. He is definately a desperate man!

On a rare day off, Rafa was cleaning out his cellar when he came across an old vase. Thinking it was valuable he rubbed it to clean off the dust. To his surprise out popped a Genie who said, "Oh master, I grant you one wish."

Rather surprised, Rafa thought for a while before replying, "Hhmmm… I know! Since I like going to Spain to find young players I would like you to build a bridge from Liverpool to Spain since I don’t like flying and the trains are unreliable - this way I could drive."

"Oh no master," responded the Genie, "that is an impossible request, it would take the will of a thousand genies to grant you that wish - you must choose a task I can grant you."

Rafa mumbled under his breath for a bit before saying, "I have a player in my team who should score more goals, can you make Babel into a 20 goals a season player?"

To which the Genie replied, "OK, what colour lights do you want on your bridge."

Boom boom.

All you ripping into Ryan Babel tonight on the strength of him being subbed yet again into a team that played like a bunch of leaderless pups, sound just like the scousers who just like to moan about him without giving him the fair shake that his performance and international career before his time at Anfield merits!

And for those of you that like Raffa Benitez and the gripping scouser fans who think their right in clear denial of his undoubted football skills, I will bow to your greater wisdom as I am sure Alex Mc'Leish will also despite the canny due dillagence of Big Eck, the current Premier League Manager of the Month! :LMAO: :LMAO: :LMAO:

Good negociating point for Mc'Leish! **thumbup

But why should he bother now, the Raffagaffa has lost the plot and in consideration of the many unqualified slamming post against Ryan Babel in this tread, :copno: bringing him to St. Adrews would be like casting pearls before swine, when the Dutch international has already had enough of that at Anfield!

Oops! I have inadvertantly given a measure of qualification to what the Villa shower of B6 call St. Andrews. :banghead: Sorry about that! I just like to support obvious talent for the glorious game and am trying to support the endeavours of Alex Mc'Leish on behalf of us all!

On the idea of him being cup-tied, if you play once and your team loses, are you still cup-tied? It's not as if you're playing in it again? Or is it just a set in stone rule that you can't play for two different teams in one cup run?

on tonights game they can keep babel i can understand why they dont rate him

i was watching, i noticed no-one seems to ever pass to him, they always play it to Kuyt. but he didnt look anywhere near a £9-11m player. he got in some good positions but as i've said, no-one looks to play him in.

Had a decent spell with Cardiff aswell, he tore Insua to shreds in the original tie, took a while to settle in last night but then had some lovely touches and put a cracking ball in for Church, that run he went on was something special aswell was begging to be put away though!

on that performance Babel looked distinctly average, but then again so were most of the other pool players.

Shane Long put away his chance nicely and did really well to get in front of the defender, nice awareness indeedy

On the idea of him being cup-tied, if you play once and your team loses, are you still cup-tied?  It's not as if you're playing in it again?  Or is it just a set in stone rule that you can't play for two different teams in one cup run?

my understanding is that you can only feature in a cup competition for one team per season... win, lose or draw.

as for the argument about Babel - one game hasn't turned him into a no-hoper. he's a player short on confidence and (regular) match fitness. a new club would be a good for him and if that club was Birmingham then it would be good for us too.

just my opinion though as opposed to fact, which many seem to think their opinions are!

Exactly confidence is a MASSIVE thing for all footballers. Judging by liverpools standards he may not be upto scratch but we are talking about a player who feels that even if he scores 4 goals in a game that he will be on the bench the next week. He knows his own manager has no faith in him and you can see from his body language how short of confidence he is. Good signing :banner:

I felt bad for him seeing that the majority there are abusing his webchat

I'm not surprised he's a different player now with Liverpool than at Ajax
