Maybe just paper talk but now Brucie wants him:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...Ryan-Babel.html

Seems to be a very limited amount of players available and everyone chases them.

I dont trust this report from the Daily Mail, the K Jones/Babel swop is old news which Bruce rejected out of hand when the Raffagaffa floated two such deals to get a marquee striker prior to the Anfield BU** **IT about the loan of Jones from Sunderland. After his fervent resolve to keep Jones I can't see Bruce now considering a swop of Kenwyn who was also upset by the rubbish tranfer talk coming out of Anfield for the controversal Babel..., :LMAO:

Is this more spin from the Raffagaffa through his Anfield croanies...? :ph43r:

KRO :Blues:

Does every one of your posts contain "Raffagaffa"?? ;)

....and the Yankie misnomer 'marquee player', a bastardisation of the word 'marquise'. I'll scream if I hear/see it again! :o

Transfer Merry Go Round Number 1 - Sunderland/Liverpool/Birmingham

Sunderland sign Benjani.
Liverpool sign Kenwyne Jones.
Birmingham sign Ryan Babel.

Transfer Merry Go Round Number 2 - Portsmouth/Tottenham/Birmingham

Portsmouth need the money for their players wages.
Tottenham sign Eidur Gudjohnsen (done deal), Younes Kaboul and Asmir Begovic
Birmingham sign Pavlyuchenko

I was just about to post this.

Though there is also a third merry go round:

Sunderland sign Robbie Keane from Tottenham - that's why Pavlyuchenko is now not for sale...

Liverpool sign Kenwyne Jones from Sunderland...

Blues sign Babel from Liverpool.

Possible?

From a Liverpool forum - may not mean anything but you never know......

"At the end of the game, Babel gave his shirt away he went into the main stand and handed it over to someone....I don't know what that meant but usually things like this means you are leaving. "

Well it was reported on SSN that Liverpool rejected a bid for Babel after we had one turned down for Pavy, we then upped a bid for Pavy only for that to be rejected.

So maybe Liverpool want £10-11M for Babel and McLeish wont pay that, just as he wont pay over £10M for Pavy and £12 for Jones.

Seems like he will go for a loan from abroad instead.

Harry wants Keane out, not Pavlyuchenko. Seems a lot of Spurs fans would rather Keane went, too.

I dont think Bent and Keane would work for Sunderland... the big man, little man is working well for them, which is why I think they are after Benjani to replace Kenwyne Jones.

Benjani can do the donkey work and Bent can get the goals... similar to what Jones and Bent's roles are for them at the moment.

We need a big target man type too which is where Pav wouldve fit in... dont get the whole Keane leaving though.

Why do people want pav so bad? 5 goals in 35 aps, isnt that a bit of a flop??

There's also the 11 goals in 11 cup matches.

League: 19 starts, 13 sub appearances - 5 goals

He's a quality player who's just not got it together at his current club.

I suppose this Daily Mail latest news on the link below is a very real transfer merry-go-round permutation, considering the fact that the rumour does provide an urgent solution to 4 Premier League Managers that are desperately looking to conclude their own clubs transfer issues in the last 32 hours (and counting down) of the January transfer window! :applause:

According to the People.

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish hopes to take advantage of the Anfield crisis by landing flying Dutchman Ryan Babel.

McLeish has re- 0pened talks with Liverpool-and wants to push through a record £8 million move.

the benefit of not getting him in january is that liverpool's financial woes have worsened and the player hasn't made any progress. don't see anyone else coming in for him so if nzogbia is not gettable at 10-11m then should go for ryan babel. Do have concerns about his attitude and consistency but as a fall back option yes.

Good player, think if he played week in week out he would develop alot into quite a little player much like Hart did under us

Sure Liverpool would let him go now, cant see him being desperate to stay tbh either

Good buy for £8m if you ask me

I think they are just picking up from an old story there. Can't see any truth in it, although I would love to see him in a blues shirt.

Whatever anyone says about Babel's form at Liverpool, it's undoubted that he has a sack load of potential. As eluded to previously in this post, if he got regular first team, he'd develop into a pretty decent Premier League player.

He's exactly what we need in the sense that he can play through the middle (his best position in my opinion)...or out wide, and I'm sure after a few seasons we'd see a return on an £8m outlay!
