So have we bid for Babel or have we just inquired about it?

From what I've read we've put in a bid but they're holding out to try and get their £12 million back.

Admitedly there is very often no smoke without fire, but I'd take the whole thing with a pinch of salt.

Perhaps there is interest there, but I wouldn't believe virtually any media genre whether it be The Rags, TV, radio or the net, especially when money is being talked about.

Really, how on earth would they know what offers were on the table? they have just taken what Liverpool payed for him and thought

"I bet they want to recoup the money they payed for him, Benitez won't want to be seen as acting in desperation. Blues have money to spend but I bet they tried a tentative offer below 10 mill. Mcleish is shrewd like that."

This is what journalism is all about, guess work, educated guess work, sure, but very often wrong.

It's all nicey nice to speculate, but please fellow blue noses, i implore you not to take any of this tosh seriously until it's on the BCFC website in black and white.

On a side note, saw a few members of the current squad (about 6-7 of them) in TGI's in Solihull the other day, They all seem really close with one another, It was a pleasure to see such a close-knit group of people both on and off the pitch, a rare sight these days. They were joking around, saying hello to fans and so on, but they all behaved like proper gents. Fair play to them.

Whatever we sign this window, just hope their personality fits in, I think it's pretty clear the closeness of the dressing room has really driven our team to success so far this season. Long may it continue.

Babel, Neil Danns and Jaidi should make a mixtape together.

As suspected I don't think it will happen as other clubs are interested Juventus especially can compete for CL football.

I feel we need to target players that are at smaller clubs as we can't give them what they are getting at these clubs regular CL or Europa football.

Sporting Gijon is a perfect club to target their best players as we are similar size clubs.

Rafa Benitez may have denied he is looking to let Ryan Babel leave during the transfer window after the Reading match on Saturday, but that hasn’t stopped the bids coming in for the Dutch forward. Birmingham, Fiorentina and Besiktas are all reported to have made bids for Babel, with Birmingham having a £9m bid rejected on Monday.
The weather could play a role in any potential transfer movements this week, with Liverpool’s John Lennon airport suffering many cancellations.
So jump in quick for Babel up the bid to 12 m and go for him

Maybe we haven't bid for him? - wouldn't be the first time Sky have got the wrong end of the stick.

Apparently we've bid 9m but its been rejected. If a deal is agreed then his agent has said he will sign with us.

Babel is quality... ok he is struggling to get into the Liverpool team but that is a team with Torres... I don't think we will be landing Torres any time soon!!!

Ryan Babel is similar to Jerome but not as one dimensional... as long as he has jeromes work rate he will be an amazing signing!!!
