Another home and away Adidas idea from me. Based on the 80-82 kit

Absolutely superb ... love a yellow away kit.

I really like Umbro but would happily have Adidas ... as long as they did a decent size shirt for the ... ahem ... larger ones among us :)

Now, those are nice and would suit the people who are calling for a return to the Adidas kits we had in the 70s / 80s.
However, I can just see some people saying that they're too plain....

RE. the person who said the new manufacturer begins with an 'E' - could it be everlast?

I know they are usually associated with boxing but so are Lonsdale and we had a kit made by them, could they be branching out as lonsdale did?

I loved the red and white away lonsdale kit

I really can't see Errea or any other kit manufacturer beginning with an e taking over from Umbro, especially after the stragetic plans to get bluesacross Asia. What proof does the poster have to put forward this idea of a manufacturer beginning with an e? Not being funny, but just can't see it.

everlast and lonsdale are both owned by MR Mike (mr newcastle) Ashley's company Sports Direct international

I still look back on that Triton shirt and think "what the hell were they smoking at the design meetings?"

Its was almost like it was done for a bet.

The company that we will be using for our kit for the next 5 seasons is XTEP

An announcement and further details are likely later today

well, as per today's announcement, the Birmingham kit will be sponsored by XTEP, China's largest fashion sportswear brand.

Sponsorship will start from 2010-2011 season, and will last for 5 seasons.

Xtep produces really cool apparel.

it isnt just about the kit.the associated sportswear that adidas produce is absolute quality and is lightyears ahead of umbro.
Adidas is a mark of quality and if the club do open a city centre shop again then it will attract non bcfc trade.

It's for the manufacture and selling of the BCFC - Xtep branded sportswear.

I can't see any mention of them being the club's sponsor

XTEP? Who?!

They are China's largest fashion sports brand.

Considering this is the market thet Mr Yeung wants to break into to generate income to invest in Blues, it seems like it is a well thought out choice.

dissapointed to be honest. we should've stayed with Umbro or gone to Adidas.

Yeah? A fashion company incompetent at Photoshop, great! Wow, these kits are going to be awful!

sorry but people really need to look at the bigger picture this move can only be brilliant news for birmingham city .
just because this brand is not known in the uk does not mean we are going to have a rubbish kit or anything like .
the important thing is that this company brand is like bigger than addidas and nike in the chinese regions .

to be in with a company this big is a massive move forward

Blues had been negotiating with Italian manufacturers errea to replace current suppliers Umbro, whose contract finishes at the end of the season.

But those talks began before Yeung completed his takeover and it was perhaps inevitable that he would tap into the fast-growing sportswear industry back home.

Thank god we dodged Errea!

Awful kits those, the Boro kits of recent times were awful, they have a decent one now though as soon as they ditched Errea.
