This is extremely worrying speculation.

I have just sent an email to Peter Pannu expressing my concern and suggesting he gets Alex tied down with a new contract asap.

Well done grumps, going to do the same!

I really hope Liverpool do well in the europa cup, that way they may just keep Benitez

The police say there is nothing to investigate.

we all knew this day would come sooner or later. i'm not worried because we have more dosh than the Scousers. i'd like to think that McLeish wants to start a legacy at this club rather than just follow in the footsteps of another club (with cr@p owners)

hope the away fans show really their appreciation to McLeish at Portsmouth aswell.

the way Gold has BLATENTLY tried to disrupt the BCFC family is unforgivable. he'd rather big-up himself than care about what happens to this club. it's just symbolic of just how Gold, Brady and Sullivan have treated this club over the years, it's all about personal glory for them!

He would surely be tempted. The considerations are:

Going to a club with ambitions beyond their finances and this variance are going to get worse with the new grround to finance.

A massive recent history to equal.

Owners who are money men.

Miss out on the Man Utd job when it comes around.

If eck does go to scouser land (which I highly doubt) then we can get hiddink in. If we had Hughes I think I'd start supporting west brom

If David Gold loves the blues so much why does he come out with comments like he has 2day in the sun newspaper. I for one said thankyou for what they have done for us including Sullivan as I remember the blues in the late 80's standing in **** hoping just to stay up, but ever since they have left they keep poping up in the press wish they would all **** off !!!!!!!!!!!! Alex Mc leish's Blue and white army.

For all the protestations that we may have Gold is right. I was thinking about this the other week with regards to the financial position. The real test of a manager is how they cope with the changes of fortune. Rafa has done well, but that's when he's always had money and his initial success probably had more to with GH (previous manager) than it did with Rafa.

AMc would build them from the back and make them a team very much like us but with two superstars.

If AMc was to go then I wouldn't see it as too much of a surprise just as much if I left my current job to take a better one on, It's called ambition and I'd be more worried if a manager didn't have it than having it at all.

The fact is that Rafa is going nowhere until the summer at least and then he's only leaving if someone else comes in for him as I'm fairly sure that Liverpool will not want to spend the summer transfer budget on sacking a manager and not providing any to the new man.

I would be surprised if a man of McLeish's mettle chose Liverpool over us. He is in the process of moulding a team of his own here, and has the funds to do so. At another club he would have to start again from scratch.
Also, a man with ambition would not see it as ambitious to tread an already well trodden path, but to carve his own path, doing something that nobody else has achieved before. That is a far bigger, and potentially more rewarding challenge.
In Birmingham he has that challenge.

I never fell for the good cop/bad cop routine when they were here.

They both peed in the same pot at the end of the day!

Can't keep quiet, can't Mr Gold.

Without us as a publicity vehicle he would be unknown to the public.

Now desperate and deluded he's a regular renta quote.

Have heard him say he was as much a blues fan as anyone else. What a joke.

Only in it for himself. Could have West Ham easily but wont spend the money, despite the killing he made with us. What a surprise.

Bitter and exteremly unhelpful, or maybe malicious with a big spoon out.

couldn't have put it better myself, i used to have a lot of respect for the guy, but this has dwindled, he lied to the Blues fans over and over, it gets my goat. Over over we have to hear quotes from these people, yeah they owned the club, once! Don't see why anyone would defend him. To me this is more annoying than David Sullivan, at least with David you know it's financial but with Gold. all he wants is media exposure. The money they have ripped out of this club makes my blood boil. go spout about your beloved wet spam David and leave us alone

Old goat face Gold has a habit of putting his foot in it, the silly
old get.

I think that he has tried to cause disruption because
the 3 of them cannot bear the success we are having since they went.

Lets see what credit brady tries to claim in her sun column tomorrow eh :LMAO:

Any crumbs of recognition on offer and they are there like vultures.

Horrible classless nasty people.

Good riddance

I think Eck sort of has a rolling contract at the moment. I've been saying for ages the board need to slap a 5 year contract on him immediately. BCFC's success will mean all our jewels will be looked at by other clubs. Gold didnt say anything controversial McLeish is an excellent manager it appears to be a windup of the Blues to be honest. He's just getting on our nerves. I doubt if Liverpool are too influenced by the Sun newspaper. If Benitez future is being discussed at Liverpool then many managers will come on the radar including McLeish. The price of success.

What a great compliment to AM and yes like it or not it does reflect well on the old board, but IF L`pool come knocking Alex would go like a shot lets not kid ourselves, even though the yanks have massively missmanaged them, they are still one of the top ten clubs in the world.
Noqw heres a point why doesnt Gold tell Liverpool how much they need SULLY&KB and keep our manager out of the limelight!!
