Bent for want of a better analogy is becoming a bit of a bad smell at the club that won't go away!

Clearly he is not wanted by Eck who has no interest in him staying at Blues, he's gone to Boro and not scored in seven games, so he's hardly marketed himself in the shop window.

Sadly as Bent will no doubt wish to draw on his salary to the very end and no other bidder is likely to pay him a weekly wage anywhere near he is getting at Blues, this one looks like it will roll on to the end of his contract, with Bent playing in the reserves.

I was hoping Beckford was going to NUFC and we could have off loaded Bent to Leeds and paid part of his salary, but that is not likely to happen now, hopefully another club in similar position may be interested, but I won't hold my breathe!!

Pay up his contract and let him go, I'm reliably informed he is a bad apple at the training ground. He's not going to get anywhere near the first team so get rid!

I think the best thing would be to pay his contract off ... ok, it might be a lot of money but he isn't going to play for us again so just get rid.

No point for me, if we're going to be paying his contract anyway just stick him in the reserves and if we have a catastrophic injury crisis he's always there just incase.

I assume we've filled that receptionist position since the new board came in? Stick him there otherwise.

Gardening Leave?

I hear so much from McLeish harping on about the dressing room morale, and how great the lads are etc etc. Bent could ruin that, so hang him out to dry and don't give him chance to unsettle the dressing room.

No such thing as a free......are you saying Boro would pay him £25k.

I just hope the lazy, good-for-nothing, overpaid git has not come back and gone straight on the flight to Malta.

God, I hate him.

£4.5m + Bent and McSheffrey for Adam Johnson IMO.

Would be a good deal all round.

I just hope he finds a way of applying himself somewhere in the league. I dont think he is premier league standard. But at the right level he could do himself justice. He needs confidence and a place where he belongs. In many ways I feel sorry for the bloke. Im sure he wanted to be a big success at boro.
Hopefully he will realise he has to step down a bit and find a club where he can reliably and happily earn his wage.

I agree with you.

It's not his fault that he was offered a 3 year contract on £20k a week is it.

The might be a sunday league pub team with a place for him.But I cant see him going with out a full pay of from his contract and who else is making any interest him?
No one i guess,Best cut lose as soon as and put it down to a part of the old regime.

I'll never forgive McLeish for bringing him here when everyone else knew he was a waste of space. A shocking decision by AM.
