I cannot believe my eyes. You dont want up to qualify do Europe because it might affect our form next season or we will have to play more Sunday games. Incredible.
Remember playing away at Grimsby: is this the choice we would have made then, when our only way to Europe was on holiday?

CY deserves us to qualify. We fans need it for our self respect. Let AM worry about the pitfalls of fixture congestion with a small squad and keeping our Premier League focus. He has the wherewithal to handle it.

The only way into the Europa League is by a high league finish or winning either the Carling Cup and FA Cup.....UEFA only allow 3 places from England

5th place in the Premier League secures a place

However if the winners of either one or both the domestic Cups are also Champions League qualifiers then it goes by League placing ....6th .....7th etc etc

But again however if the losing FA Cup Finalists have lost the Final to a team already qualified for the CL (The Top 4 in the Prem) then they are the team who qualify......for example, let's say Blues did reach the FA Cup Final this year but lost to Chelsea who had won the Premiership as well then Blues would claim a spot in the Europa League irresepective of league place

Another example let's say is if Liverpool win the FA Cup after finishing 5th in the Prem and beating a team who had finished above them in the Final then the 6th placed PL club would get a berth as well

When it was called the UEFA Cup, Southampton (2003) , Millwall (2004) and West Ham (2006) all went into the UEFA Cup the following year despite all losing in the FA Cup Final

There is also a Fair Play drawing (8-10 teams who have the best disciplinary records ).....But that's purely luck of the draw......Manchester City went into the UEFA Cup through that route last season even though they had finished 9th in the League the previous season

On the Fair Play places. There are THREE.
But that depends on the NATIONAL league for each country. So England would have to see the Premier League placed in the Top 3 Fair Play Leagues around Europe to get an extra place.

England would have to qualify first Parti, as one of the eligible countries.
And then the selection would be done from the Prem Fair Play league.

I can drive. And Sundays are better for being out in the tractor but being a loving, caring family man I do like to prioritise my Sundays.............oh, and I have to earn brownie points for my cricket travels. :D
