The question of hate is a strange one. I have several close friend who are Villa fans so I can't hate my friends can I? I look at it more as a bad lifestyle choice (as they most likely do to me). I think I pity them more than hate them, (but then again they most likely pity me as well). I do feel that my club has somehow got more identity that theirs, we are earthier and less fashionable, (which I like). I like the feeling that we are true football fans who support a good old-fashioned football club, whilst they are just hangers on to an ideal that they have not realised since they won the European Cup. I think the thing that does irritate me is the fact I think they look down their noses at us, I don’t like it yet in some ways it justifies the way I feel about them as fans. The sad fact is I wouldn’t enjoy supporting the Blues as much if they weren’t there where as I think they would happily see us wiped from the earth.

i can admire how they run themselves as a football club but i will never in a billion years be caught at vile park in the home end, and i would even be reluctant to go as an away fan just because i can't bear to be at the epicentre of all evil. the closest i've ever been to going into that ground is the old Stumps 5-a-side footy and cricket next door

Makes me think though looking back to 1967/68 when Blues completely took over The Holte End and outnumbered the few Vilers who bothered to turn up by something like 4 to 1

That was terrific and we beat them 4-2 with a delightful display of attacking football which was the springboard of roughly 8 seasons of total dominance over them where they were in our shadow

It's one reason why there are so many older BlueNoses the world over....in the 40's and older age group

When I first followed BCFC, Villa were on a downward slide and their gates were plummeting to around 15,000 .......in a stadium that could hold 61,000 at that time.....Nobody can deny they have a lot of bandwaggoners especially since that 1982 evening when they won the European Cup.......But since then they have vastly under achieved so these deluded fools who think they are light years ahead of us really are deluded.......Even their stadium was modernised from other people's money.......mainly from the FA for both the 66 World Cup and then again for the 1996 European Championship

Luck is one thing thay have had plenty of over the years

Crikey, I remember Rangers coming to town (1976 I think)

There was hardly a Viler to be found at the actual game :LMAO: An ex girlfriend of mine had a diehard brother who was Vile through and through and even he didn't risk going

The downside though was that The Rangers Mob casused several pubs in the city centre to be closed down

I recall driving along Warwick Road late Saturday night and I saw two or three Rangers fans, totally out of their skulls, on the traffic roundabout thumbing for a lift......In Acocks Green :LMAO: .......I presumed they were hopelessly lost and heading back to Glasgow in the wrong direction

As i was saying to my vile mate last night look at the luck they have had through the cup run. sunderland missed a pen and then lost on pens, portsmouth need i say more and then instead of getting man city or united they get blackbun who have just beat chelsea on pens and he has the cheek to say that its class that got them through.

we have a anthem!!!!! kro !!!! wot do they have?????

From being at VP last Saturday to cheer on West Ham, I can happily say they have nothing. they even have to be told by opposing fans to sing.

The place is truly a morgue, shows you how fickle there 'fans' really are.

The Vile fans were just starting to turn against the team last night when the Ref stepped in to help out

It was good to see David Dunn having a go at Ashley "diver" Young. He is seriously in need of a good slap. Just reading Kenny Burns book - now he'd have given Young Ashley something to really dive for ;)

Oh my flippin goodness, a Blues fan and going to wembley to watch the Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch bunch, the only time i'd consider watching that lot is if were playing them and if it's at their ground I have to defumigate all my clothes after the game. They might be from the Midlands but that's no reason to go and watch them. So will you be wearing a villa scarf as well, next step will be a av season ticket I expect. Blue noses do not associate with villa, make a choice it's us or them.

Just on the train now, going home from the game. I went because my brother won tickets. If only Ashley Young, James Milner and Richard Dunne didnt play for villa...

Great game, off to wembley now!

I'm not turning into a villa fan, it's just that whenever a midlands club (wolves, baggies, villa, blues, walsall) get into the final or semi final of a cup tournament, or go to wembley- i'm at the game!

Does anyone know the price of tickets?

Not turning into a Villa fan? Hmmm...

A true Blues fan? No way are you.

How anyone can come on bigging up Villa and go on about supporting them in any instance, especially at a Cup Final, just stinks of Vile to me.

Good luck getting tickets, and if you do manage it, hope the journey home in tears at the loss wont hurt too much.

Yes !!

Doug Ellis is the Lord mayor isn't he ??

But the best villa matches i have ever seen was...

liverpool 2-1 villa (1997)
blues 3-0 villa
blues 2-1 villa
blues 2-2 villa
blues 2-0 villa
blues 2-1 villa
man utd 3-0 villa
liverpool 5-0 villa

(notice a trend?)

Big news!

I wont be going to the final-only ST holders can get them, so i'll be going in may instead for the blues.

Comparison between the clubs

Friedel vs Hart

Hart wins every day, friedel may be good, but hes not good enough and old, and american.

Vile Defence v Blues Defence

Blues every day once again, our strongpoint is at the back.

Vile Midfield v Blues Midfield

I dont know for this because the vile midfield is also like having 4 more attackers, and blues with bowyer and fergie being brilliant defenders, and passsers, and scorers, i would say we're pretty much the same strength. though vile's play is very different

Vile Attack v Blues Attack

Chucho and Jerome are ok, but barely score any, fair play to chucho being new to the prem, but cj needs to work on his consistency.
As for Villa, they have a mong from erdington, a donkey, a norwegian donkey, and an ex watford player, and they somehow seem to be brilliant, far far above the attacking strengths of cj and the current chucho.

We have somet in chucho, he'll bang a few more in the 2nd half of the season!

wemberly wemberly were the famous aston villa and were going to wemberly!

Courtesy of Astonvilla Fans application on Facebook. It's either a misspelling on purpose or it's a genuine Villa fan mistake. I wonder if Chiltern railways have sold many on-line tickets to the game yet as surely most of them are still searching for the above spelling.

They have luck with jam on it...

Andy gay recently described our run as amazing when you get a little bit of luck...well thanks for that Andy for a club that has won nothing of note in its 135 year existence we truly are a lucky club
